THE SYNAGOGUE
The Synagogues in the time of YahShua Messiyah were like modern town hall meeting places. Besides the religious services, the business conducted by the Elders of the town took place in the Synagogue. A Synagogue predominates over each town and village, being the place where the city met to decide matter. It was sometimes called the gates of the city.
The synagogue was usually a large building supported by several heavy beams. The roof spread out far beyond the walls of latticework making a porch like structure all around the building. The men would go into the Synagogue proper, and the women would remain on the outside of the lattice under the porches and listen to the Torah being read. Women were not allowed into the Synagogue proper. Neither was a woman allowed to handle the Torah.
There was a sacred room or shelf somewhere in the synagogue where the combined scroll of Torah, and the writings of the Prophets were kept in a protective case. The care of this most valuable scroll was usually done by a priest of the lineage of Aaron, or in some cases a scribe. A stand in a central area in the synagogue was where the scroll was unrolled to be read by the male members of the community each Sabbath. It fell the caretakers duty to handle the rather fragile scroll and to unroll it to the place where the reader was to begin.
A marker was placed in the scroll so a person could take up the reading where the last person left off and thus the entire scroll was read each year.
Before He began His ministry YahShua Messiyah had gone every Sabbath day His entire life to the Synagogue in Nazareth to hear the reading of the Torah. After His baptism by John the Baptist, the Messiyah came to Nazareth one Sabbath, entered the Synagogue and stood to be recognized by the priest. It was no surprise that the portion of scripture where He was to read was a virtual prophecy of His coming. No doubt He had read from the Torah many times in His life, but today it was not a prophecy He read, but the fulfillment of the prophecy presented before their very eyes.
The Synagogue is a beautiful type and shadow of the fulfillment of the finished work of Yahs plan for man. As in the natural there is two distinct areas or realms that make up the meeting place of Yah. Synagogue means, the meeting places of Yah. (# 4150)
Male or Female
Only the males were allowed in the Synagogue proper and it was only the male who was allowed to read the Torah. For us women this sounds rather male showiest. However, it is proper for Yahs purpose. This is not to say that women are not just as important in Yah economy as males, but that with Yah there is neither male nor female so far as natural gender goes. Remember Yah does not look on the outward appearance, but upon the heart. In other words, He sees the spirit man, not the natural man. Thus, the male and female in Yah is determined by whither the spirit is giving or receiving.
As in the natural the male injects or gives life, and the woman receives life within her and develops it. Neither is insignificant, but each plays their part in the whole of reproduction. It is the same in the spiritual sense. The spirit that injects or gives life is male, and the spirit that receives life from the male is female, and what is produced is wrought in Yah. The males are the sons of Yah, and they will minister from heaven, the females are the daughters of Yah, or what the church calls the body or bride. They are neither one in the sense that it is preached in the church. They are simply the daughters of Yah, a body of saints or believers that comes together to receive. Because they come to receive they are female.
The sons relationship is with the Father while the females relationship is with the Son, YahShua Messiyah. It is not hard to discern which realm a person is in just by listening to their conversation. Their significant other quickly comes to the foreground in their conversation. A daughter is in love with and talks about YahShua Messiyah. A son is in fellowship with and talks about his Father Yah.
It is Yahs purpose and plan to bring many sons unto glory. Being in the female body of believers is not the intended place in Yah for His people. The female realm is a glorious place and the love developed between them and the Son of Yah is awesome and very precious. However, YahShua did not come to earth to take a bride. He came to reconcile man back to Yah. He is the door to the Father, and His ministry was to show us the Father, that Yah might be all in all. It is a person's emotion that binds them to the flesh of Yah that was laid down for our sin. This was Yah with man to bring man to Yah. Our gratitude for His sacrifice draws us near to the man of Galilee and we see Yahs love for us through his flesh. Many will not be able to see the Yah inside YahShua Messiyahs flesh body. This concept of Yah, limited as it is, is all that most people know of Yah, and the place of security and protection in the roll of female seems to be enough for them.
The Temple is a type of dwelling places in Yahs house. YahShua said, In my Fathers house are many mansions, or rooms, I go to prepare a place for you. So also it is with the synagogue. The inner court of the synagogue corresponds to the Holy and Most Holy Place of the Temple. The Porch of the Women in the synagogue represents the earthly realm and corresponds to the courtyard of the Temple. The sons of Yah enter into the synagogue proper, or the Most Holy Place. They are male and stand in the presence of the divine life of the spirit that flows through them. These are ordained to handle the Word of Yah. This is not a ministry. It is a possition of revelation and authority. This is the appointed place for man by Yah. The women, or female, called the bride of Messiyah by the church, occupy the courtyard, and will be eternally peering through the lattice of the flesh to see and hear their Yah.
YahShua prepared a place for us in Yahs realm and those who enter there are the sons of Yah. The daughters of Yah who by nature and tradition marry men will dwell in a place prepared for them by Yah so that they, also, may enjoy the blessing of Yah thought they must receive it through the vail of the flesh.
The woman, body or what the church calls the Bride of Messiyah will behold what Yah is doing, although they will be cut off from the Word of the Yah in this day because they are found looking through the lattice or barer of mans tradition and religious doctrine. Only the manchild or sons of Yah will be found in the synagogue proper. Only they can receive the scroll that belongs to Yah. Again I say, YahShua did not come into the world to receive a bride, he came to reconcile us to the Father. He came as the firstborn of many brethren.
But we see YahShua, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of Yah should taste death for every man. For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both he that sanctifies and they who are sanctified are all of one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren.
I am always available to answer the questions of a hungry heart. It is Yah's will that we help one another up the hill to transfiguration. However, keep in mind that it is not revelation knowledge that we should seek, but "HIM". Spiritual understand will automatically come as we become more aware of "HIM" and become more like "HIM". Many fall short of full sonship by becoming too caught up in the revelation, and not caught up "IN HIM". "HE" must have preeminence in our life even in our getting of revelation knowledge. I can not stress this enough.
