I have just arrived in Amman, now writing in an internet cafe which I
encountered by accident.
Here is hot, but not scorching hot, some breeze, not as bad as I expected.
Up till now, not much hazzlement, people are ok.
The city isn't prosperous, I feel it is a desert like city, dusty and dry,
don't feel like it.
Men walk around on street, don't know what they are doing.
I will go to Petra tomorrow.
Write later. Hope you will miss me. :-)

The Amman currency is too complicated for me. I spent one night studying it.
Hope today it will be better, besides dina, there is fils, pestra.
I bought one ice-cream yesterday, looked like tasty, but in fact just 'so so'. I
thought I have given the right amount of coin to the shop, but after I left, the
man ran after me and returned the change to me, see, I really don't know how
much the coins are worth.
Hot hot hot, in the afternoon, whenever I am out, I put on the white scarf
over my head, look like an Arabian woman. people wont bother you when I
walked alone on the street, just took a look at you.
Nothing to see in Amman. I should go to Petra today, but no bus for today.
So I need to stay one more day in this boring city.
Stifling hot in the afternoon, so I spent the afternoon in hotel.
Cool at night, there is breeze, need to turn off the fan and put on the
trousers, I used the white scarf as a blanket, so useful the white scarf is.
I met nice people and bad guys in Amman. But I know how to tackle the bad guys.
There is a mosquito in my room yesterday, I tried to kill it but unsuccessful,
so it bit me two bites I think. Then this morning when I woke up, I touched on
my left arm and killed one dirty insect - the one which it looks like fly, but
is found in dirty places, called 'flee' in English I think, can't remember the English
word.
I found several internet cafes in Amman, surprisingly. They should be just
called internet centres because there are no cafes and no meals there. it costs
HK$5 for half hour, I think it is cheap.
Bought one Vaseline in pharmacy today, already found the wrinkles on my
hand. god!!
The only thing I like in my room is the toilet flush, it flushes fast and has
force, I like it! :-)
There is a fridge in my room, not much useful to me, I put in some water and two
plums I bought on street stalls.
TV programs no good for me, the only English channel is sports, I watched
the skateboard game. The other channels are in Arabian.
I tried to take on a local service bus, but the driver refused me as they don't
speak English. so I took a taxi instead.
Met an interesting Macau man at Dubai airport, too long story to tell.
I will stroll in downtown street later, hope will find some more interesting
things. But I think I cant stay on street for too long, will be dried up and
becomes a mummy before I go to Egypt :-)
Not sure when I can find an internet cafe to write again. Anyway, it is fun to
travel again, always exciting and new things to come.
I will take care, hope so will you.
love,
Nora

I am writing from Jerusalem.
Everything goes fine. had a wonderful time in Jordan, done snorkelling, saw the
sea turtle, slept under the stars on desert.
Have just arrived in Jerusalem, here is expensive, but I think I like it. will
stay here for 3 days, then go to Cairo.
Met wonderful and interesting people in the trip.
Hope to write to you soon. Internet is expensive here, have to stop.

Amman is cheap in internet, other places expensive, here, my 2nd day in Cairo,
dirty , noisy and hot city, don't like it at all. Cars will cross when green man
light is on! crazy!!
Will go to Luxor the day after tomorrow. I finally have air conditioned rooms in
Cairo and good sleep last night!
