Two fires were built on a hill one day...one to bring warmth...the other to bring heat. The fire built for warmth...was made of logs brought and honored for their being...the other of logs brought for being wood. The people who made the fire of warmth...had love in their hearts and welcomed others to their fire...the other fire was made by people who were afraid of anyone they did not know. It came to pass...that a traveler came to the hill and was seeking food, rest, and good company...he came across the fire of heat first. His feet were worn and bloodied by the trek he had made...and that was obvious to all who looked upon him. He stopped outside the circle of the fire with great respect for those within...and asked with humbleness to join the fire. He was looked over by all...and the leader finally said...no stranger...I am sorry...but you must move on...we have but enough to feed and take care of our own...so you must move on. The traveler smiled and gave them his thanks anyway...then he rewrapped his feet and moved towards the other fire. He only got within seein distance before men were sent out to help him in...and was given food and his feet bathed and takin care of before he was asked about himself. He began tellin them stories of places he had visited both near and far. He told them of places of deer and antelope not far away...places with lots of water and landscape to keep them warm and safe for many a winter. When he was tired...they gave him a bed to rest in and plenty of pelts to assure his warmth. He stayed with them for a few days...each night regalin them with his stories...stories they knew could help them...things they could use. He told them of these places and how to find the way to them...each one of them havin somethin that would benifit the whole tribe. The man soon healed and went on his way...but the stories that he had told them stayed with them and led them to those places...makin sure for a long time to come...that they had all they needed for their well being. I know you are probably expectin me to tell you that the other tribe suffered...but I wont...because it was the way of the tribe who had takin the man in...to share the information with the other tribe as well. What I will tell you however...is that nothin is ever lost by sharin what you have...there is nothin but gain when you share...for you have felt and given love...the greatest gift of all.
