Two brothers went out hunting for food for their familys...they had been out for a couple of days when they came across a herd of buffalo...and they each got one. One brother gave thanks to all things for all he had received in the hunt...the meat to feed his family...the pelt to clothe and bone to carve for useful things around the house. The other brother railed that he had killed only one buffalo...and would have to hunt again soon...he used all things...but gave thanks for none. It soon came to be...that the brothers had to hunt again and they went out for days...they saw nothing and went home bare. The one gave thanks for the time with his brother...the exercize...and for seeing the beauty all around him...the other one only grumbled his anger of not finding food. This went on for awhile...the brothers hunting...not findin buffalo or any other meat to  bring to the fire...the one givin thanks...the other grumblin. It came to pass...that the brother that was always thankful was killed in an accident...the other havin to carry his body back to the village and tell his sister in law of his brothers death. The woman cried many tears...but with the tears were many thanks for all she had had with her husband...all she had been givin...they had shared a special bond...and had had a good life together. The brother was very angry about his brothers death and said very unkind words to his sister in law about givin thanks for all she had. She smiled at him and told him that he had always grumbled about what he didnt have...never givin thanks for what had been provided to him from anywhere. He had been jealous of his brother from childhood for all he had been given...believin that he had gotten the short end of the stick always. She pointed out that he had all his brother had had...the wife...the family...all things much alike...but the thing he didnt share...was the knowin of what he had...he had kept it from himself by never seein it. By never bein thankful for what was givin...he never acknowledged the gift...so didnt see it. You can take this story for what it is...a simple tale of two brothers...or you can take it to your heart...and see the gift it has to give...be thankful and know the bounty...or grumble what you dont have.....
