| Irai grumbled as she rolled around in her silk covers. Her body began to ache as her awareness of her surroundings increased. Eventually she forced herself to sit up to stare at the wall, her eyes barely able to hold open. Finally she gave, letting her body flop back down on the bed and stared at the ceiling some more. She wrapped the blankets around her, enjoying the tingling sensation caused by the silk. Soft purrs sounded from her throat as her gaze remained on the white ceiling above her. Eventually reality began to set in her mind as her body told her to get out of bed. She slid out of the bed and stood, letting the cold spring wind wrap around her. Irai regretted the day the humans attacked her village. What happened between the attack and her inprisonment was still a blur in her mind, but since that day she slowly began to figure it out. Today would mark the 5th month I've been doing this..... She sighed and closed her eyes, sitting on the edge of her bed. Fear clenched her heart like a vice as strong as it did when she first arrived. Ever since that day.... The day she woke up in this room. At first she enjoyed all the small luxeries inside the room, but when she tried to open the door, she found it locked. Despite all the banging that she had done, nothing or no one would open the door. It was my first day as a slave... The door had opened eventually, but the two men had not come to set her free. Instead they escorted her to a horse with a cage attached to it. She struggled against the two men, but both overpowered her and threw her into the cage. She was transported through the streets to one of the largest buildings she had ever seen before she was forced out of the cage and into one of the entrances. She was then brought into what seemed to be the center of the building and thrown into another cage. Irai had cried the whole time while she waited and waited in the darkness. Her tears had been cut short, though, as the wall behind her had slowly began to rise and let light pour in. She had stood up and walked through the door of light, only to have found herself in the middle of a stadium. They called me a monster... Humans were in the seats all around her, booing her and shouting at her. One person announced one thing that she would have preferred to have never known. "It took a whole army to subdue her, and even then we must honor the half of the army that could not return by her hand." she mumbled to herself. Then the gates that lined the walls had opened, and out of each had come beasts, each foaming at the teeth. No doubt that they were starving... and it was a free for all for the meat of the other animals. She too, was hungry at the time, but she watched with fear from the wall as the killing began. It wasn't until one of the lions had sighted her when she took a defensive position. It leaped for her throat, but she managed to duck under it and throw it over her with her feet. It crashed into the wall and fell to the ground before it got up and charged at her again. The second time, however, it moved to tackle and take her to the ground, ramming into her stomache and knocking the air out of her lungs. It then snapped at her throat again as she grabbed its jaws. It was then when she began to lose control. Irai had a sudden burst of strength as she snapped the lion's jaws in two. The smell of blood intoxicated her even further as she rolled the lion onto its back with her on top, slashing at the beast with her claws at its chest. Her senses then blurred for what seemed like a moment, but when she regained them, she found herself in the middle of the carnage. Bodies of the beasts had been around her while she sat in the center. Covered in blood.... and no longer hungry.... I had killed them all.... Ever since her first day as a slave, she has gone to the Arena to fight every two weeks. Every fight, though, her opponents changed more from beast to humanoids. As she thought of the humanoid opponents, she began to rub her side where an arrow once struck her. Irai started to cry when she started thinking of all the blood she has shed and all the things she killed with her fangs and her claws. She curled up on the bed and started crying on the pillow until she could cry no longer. I'm treated specially... because I'm the master's pet killer... Many times Irai had thought of killing herself, but she could not bring herself to it. Other times she just wanted to give up and be killed in the Arena, but her primal urges told her to stay alive. Irai had been depressed ever since the first time she was caged, and nothing seemed to dismiss that emotion. She sighed, wrapping her arms tightly around her pillow. And where is Ren to save me now....? ----------------------------------------------------------------- The knock on her door startled Irai, bringing her back from the nap she was enjoying. Slowly, she slipped out of bed and walked to the door. Yet another day of slaughter, she thought to herself as she knocked a response on the door. The two familiar men opened the door as she walked through. Both eyed her carefully to make sure that she didn't break away as they escorted her through her master's mansion and to the front door. Once before she had tried breaking away at the door, but was stopped by two more men. As she exited the door, however, she did not see her usual cage, but instead she saw a metal box with a few holes on it. She sighed as she entered her new transport while the men closed the door behind her. Her body shifted sightly as the horse began to trot. Irai laid down on the floor and closed her eyes, mumbling to herself. The more she thought about it, the less it seemed that she had a chance of getting away and surviving afterwards. Even if I did break away, where would I go, and how would I know that I was safe? Irai paused in her thought as she took a peek out of one of the holes. Men and women lined the streets, staring at her prison, and she could faintly hear booing through the metal. Eventually she sat back down in the center of the prison as the booing grew stronger and stronger. Without warning, sounds of blunt objects hitting the box startled her. A small rock flew through one of the holes and skidded to a halt right next to her. They're throwing rocks.... Eventually the sounds subsided as she reached the Arena, the horse coming to a halt. The box doors opened up as she slowly left, looking at her surroundings. The streets near the entrance lacked the usual crowd as a few guards patrolled the area, some giving her strange looks while others gave her dirty looks. Irai sighed as she was escorted through the Arena to her holding cage. Irai laid down on the sand floor and waited patiently for her turn to kill. Time moved slowly for her, as the sounds of the crowd cheering louder and louder as time passed by. She heard the familiar click from the wall as she rose to her feet before the wall rose and let a flood of light into her prison. Slowly, she strode out into the Arena to the familiar sound of boos. She gasped in surprise to see a crowd of armed warriors in the center. All men of different races, each possessed a weapon that she knew was gonna be used on her. A few orcs began to approach her, their eyes filled with the bloodlust that she knew her own would soon possess. The first was armed with a short sword and a buckler, the second armed with a large axe, the third armed with a halberd, and the fourth armed with a net and flail. Irai walked slowly to the center of the arena, but she was stopped short by the four orcs. They surrounded her easily, and the fear that caused her to change into the beast slowly crept into her heart. The first orc charged her and slashed wildly. Instincts kicked in immediately as she ducked low. Her control over her own body was starting to fall, however, as she immediately followed up by slashing at the orc's gut before kicking him aside to avoid the next attacker. The smell of blood caused her to drool slightly while the fourth came at her, swinging his flail at her gut. She caught the metal ball in her hand, tugging the orc off balance. She then proceeded to slash at his face with her claws until her claws reached the orc's brains as the body landed on the ground with a thud. The third slowly approached her until she was close enough for him to stab at with his halberd. He fainted poorly, however, as she grabbed a hold of his weapon and pulled him to her before she sent her hand, claws first, straight through his stomach before she tossed him aside like a puppet. The second came at her with the first, hoping to outnumber her, but Irai was fast past her limit of control as she charged at the two. Swiftly, she slashed the second in half with her growing claws before she leaped on the first and tore its throat out with her own teeth. Blood filled her mouth as her body began to undergo changes. She felt her lower back extend as two more legs supported her hind weight. The claws became monsterous while her tail extended further. Her face took a more fierce visage while her teeth sharpened themselves. Irai could merely see as she turned and faced the main party. Those who broke made easy pray for her before she started to focus on the center group itself. Her centaur like body, covered in blood, circled the group as spears prevented her from dashing in. She would occasionally find a weakness, but it would easily be remedied. The beast grew impatient for more blood and charged at the spears. Before she reached in range, she pushed off the ground with a giant leap. The main body failed to reach in time as she landed behind the weapons. She kicked back with her powerful hind legs while she tore at those she could reach with her arms. She felt the scratch of a few blades at the pokes of a few daggers, sending her blood frenzy further with irritation. At the end of her carnage, she felt her body bathed in the blood of those she massacred. Her beast half looked at the scene proudly, until her eye caught ahold of a single form still standing. She turned to face him, licking her lips slowly til her whole body froze in shock. Ren smiled at her before his hand motioned for her to attack.. |
