Where Are You?

Where did you go
When I needed you the most
I looked all around
Until I met Dove
I asked her where
Where is she?
She shook her head
She said "I don't know
Come fly with me"
But I had to find you

I looked further
Until I met Buffalo
So strong and proud
I asked him where
Where is she?
He too shook his head
"I have no idea
Come run with me," he said
Still I had to find you

Finally I came to Eagle
The wisest of them all
With tears in my eyes
I approached him
He asked "Why are you crying?"
"I can't find my grandmother," I said
He looked at me and smiled
"It's alright, don't cry. Your grandmother is here."
"Where?"
"Where nothing can harm her
And no tears fall from her eyes
Just look to the sky
And say a little prayer
If you love her so much
She'll be there"

Dedicated to my Grandmother
Christina Owens

This poem orignally was about a lover but when I started putting animals in it I realized that I was writing about my grandma. I quickly jotted down some more lines and when i had some free time I finished it. When I showed my friends they started to cry and told me it was beautiful. Everyone liked the idea of the animals and so I kept it.
I always like to think that she watches me right up there with GOD and is helping me.
