| When The Time Is Right We had a moment in time But I think we rushed it The look in each other's eyes Was glazed with confusion Our embrace stiff Our kiss was cold With the smell of sex and the aroma of hesitation We parted on bad terms Now we meet With disgust We wonder why In our hearts we already know When the time is right Our eyes will be filled with acknowledgement Our arms will be filled with wanting Our lips will be filled with passion With the aroma of ecstasy We will come together On some fateful night When we least expect it By Larry Francisco I wrote this poem after I had been with a guy who was younger and the day after he acted cold to me. I assumed that he was just young and didn't know anything. I also wrote it for another man who i was with for one night and i told the wrong people and it got back to him. He said he was going to kick my ass. I felt really bad because i was friends with the girl he was going out with. When she found out she wasn't made but sad because she knew i liked him and knew i wanted to be with him. She said she wished i could talk to him but he was in denial about the whole thing. I got a call from him a week after that saying that he wanted me to sneak out and meet him. I didn't trust him so i said no. I kinda wish i did though but i'm glad i stood up for once. that was in job corps and i haven't seen or heard from him since. Now i only have the memories. |
