This has to be my ALL TIME FAVORITE Aretha record! I thas the blessed and the rockin all in the same album and I just love that photo on the cover.

I've had the cd, tape and the album. This album even won a Grammy which I think is so cool that they should come out with a special edition with remixed tracks or something cool. But they never so that for Aretha. Diana and Donna get a double cd but what the hell does Aretha get! Huh?

Back to the album.
Jimmy Lee-a rockin ode to a high school boyfriend. I have always loved this one but kinda got tired of it after awhile but every now and then when i heard that intro I get fired up and ready to sing along.

I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)-I remember seeing this video and thinking How cool is George Michael for singing with The Queen. Back then I didn't knoq about George (being gay) and I just thought he was cute but never thoght he was like that ha ha but the video was cool I liked how they showed Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell in the background. Aretha's vocals are superb in this track just listen to her SOAR!

Do You Still Remember?-Now this track i never listened to much I think I was in my WANNA ROCK stage so i never payed any attention to slow songs. but it is good though.

Jumpin Jack Flash-This is the song from the movie of the same name which starred Whoopi Goldberg and she was also in the video playing a background singer. She even walks up to Aretha at the end of the video when Aretha starts wailing and just stares at her in awe ha ha. Very funny. I just love the ending on this song because the way Aretha sings then starts raising her voice you feel like she's lifting you up as well. I lvoe singing along to this one! SMILE

Rock-A-Lott-probably my second favortie on this album (the first is Jumpin Jack Flash) because of just the video. In the video Aretha is puppet residing in a stereo boombox and sing out of the speakers. The only real proof I have of this is the picture in the YAHOO GROUP and MY PHOTOS. But I loved this song because Aretha knows how to ROCK. There is more to video but i can't remember I just remember the puppet which i thought was so cool. and the bridge on this song is very cool with aretha saying 'It's time to rock with REE REE" gets me movin all the time.
