Music for children

The enjoyment & entusiasm of the children is always evident when hearing them play at the wonderful recitals. Nonna is an expert at teching the children to play at their highest ability level while keeping a sense of fun & love of learning music."

Gaby and Angela have been taking private piano lessons with Mrs Nonna Kaler for about three years now. They love Mrs Nonna for her patience, her devotion to perfection, her knowledge of piano and her understanding of children. we have been trying many different piano teachers but none working well for our children, especially Gaby who has taken piano lessons for more than 5yrs now. Mrs Nonna is flexible and works around the schedule if there are conflict. Her regular recitals make the children more focus and more confident. Her different recital's themes also are innovative and it encourages the children to learn about the composers and their musics.

... I like how you expose your students to ALL types of music, and then give them choices about what to play within that genre or type. So many piano teachers, I think, only expose kids to classical music, and while of course they need that exposure, I think they enjoy their lessons so much more when they're exposed to a wider variety of music(at least some of the time) and when you work some with their preferences so that at least some of the time, they REALLY ENJOY the music they are playing.

Dear Nonna,
I know a lot of kids who take piano lessons for years and plateau after awhile. That is definitely NOT true for any of your students. It's been so beautiful to watch your students develop their skill over the years, as well as their overall knowledge of music. You are a very dedicated teacher, always doing extra for your students, even when you don't get paid extra for doing it. We appreciate how you give your students choices in the music they play; how flexible you are with scheduling; how you try to make recitals fun and interesting, and how you work more intensively, if need be, to help students work through any rough spots that may arise in their playing. Thank you for sharing your talent and dedication with us!

One of the best things about studying with Nonna is the chance students get to perform at least once a month in recitals and rep. classes. This experience is invaluable, and Nonna always manages to make it fun for the children.

I enjoy taking piano with Mrs. Nonna because her music selection is not only challenging its also beautiful.
