"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:4-7

The Tabby's "M" (based on an old fable) A long time ago In a land far away, Mary and Joseph made their way To the little town of Bethlehem But, not one room Was left for them. So a stable, small and warm Became the place where Christ was born. The animals gathered in the hay To look upon where Jesus lay. And, opening His tiny eyes, The little One began to cry. Mary held her baby near But nothing seemed to dry His tears. Then from a corner in the back A Tabby cat, all gray and black Left her kittens in the straw And touched the Baby with her paw. She snuggled close to Jesus' ear And purred a song so sweet and clear. He smiled a smile of pure delight Then fell asleep in the moon's soft light. Mary reached to touch the Tabby's face. Her heart so full of love and grace And there beneath her gentle hand, An "M" appeared to ever brand The Tabby cat.....that special one, Whose gentle purr Pleased God's own Son. Nonie-June 1, 1995

My First Poem Brothers We walk we talk we wile away The hours of the day And yet it seems, with all our schemes We've yet to find a way To walk as one and talk as one As brothers proud and good And do our best to live in peace As brothers always should. Nonie-1964
