In a small moment, almost 5000 lives flickered and flared brightly for the final time. As I watched in horror, I saw this horrible site. In my heart's ears, I heard the cries of 5000 souls, begging one single plea, "Please, do not forget me." And silently, with tears in my eyes, I whispered, "I will not." |

I know I was not there that day when the horrible blow was cast. I know I am but one lone soul, who can do but sing to those who morn in a small soft voice. "Your loved ones did not die in vain. Their memories are all engraved upon each one of our hearts." When you take the life of this, my brother, you have thus also smitten me, my mind cried. So I stand, head held high, a single tear shed, morning for the multitudes, loving each. Knowing deep inside, my heart shall not rest until the die is cast and those who committed this horrible deed are each brought before the halls of the Master and made to pay their pentance for their crimes. |
