Homeschool Roots and Shoots Group July-August 2002
Worm Woman Workshop Report
Mary Appelhof is the author of "Worms eat my Garbage", which describes how to set up a worm bin in your house to dispose of garbage. She showed us a video which described all the tiny critters that are found in a worm bin and assist in turning the garbage into soil. Then she had us set up a worm bin and each family made a small worm composter out of a 2 liter pop bottle. Many people bought books from her. After the workshop we told her about our group plans to play at the Renaissance Faire, and she taught us the "Come Follow" song, which we sang at the Faire. --Courtney

We are enjoying the books we bought. Thanks to the Worm Woman very much for the workshop, and for teaching our music group songs! A very multi-talented woman.
