The Old Lady Inda Shoe Players
Volunteered to sing and play at the Silver Leaf Renaissance Faire. Also known as Taylor, Maddison, Bailey, Garth, PJ, Ben, Courtney, Jack, and Jesse, they learned to sew and made their garb themselves. They learned new pieces to play and sing and several of them learned to play the recorder for the first time. They adopted medieval-ish names and personas to immerse themselves in the Faire's version of the Middle Ages. Janice is "The Old Lady Inda Shoe" and Sue provides musical backup!

Interview with "Old Lady" Inda Shoe

   Today we interview Mrs. Inda Shoe, also known as the Ol' Lady Inda Shoe. Inna Her merry troup played at the Silver Leaf Renaissance Faire the last three weekends in July.

NNN: Mrs. Shoe, what are you best known for?
Mrs. Shoe: Well, I have so many children, I don't know what to do.
NNN: So you gave them some broth without any bread?
Mrs. Shoe: Of course not, I don't know how that rumor got started. Crick Haltom makes really good bread, by the way.
NNN: You didn't spank them all soundly and send them to bed?
Mrs. Shoe: Actually, we all took up the recorder and the drums, and play for your entertainment!
NNN: Well, I'm glad we got that cleared up. So what are your future plans?
Mrs. Shoe: We will be learning even more songs for next year. Do you like my hat?

NNN: Thank you Mrs. Inda Shoe for that fascinating interview. I hope everyone enjoyed the Ol'Lady Inda Shoe Players at the Faire this year!

There was an old woman
who lived in a shoe,
She had so many children
she didn't know what to do;
She gave them some broth
without any bread;
She spanked them all soundly
and put them to bed.

Historical note: This is one of those originally political Mother Goose rhymes. The "old woman" was the British Parliament, the "children" were the British colonies circa the time of James I. That's not the middle ages? Oh well... they didn't have Japanese guitars or plastic recorders in the middle ages either!
