A JOURNAL OF EVENTS

1/15/04 - No Mercy hosted Tom N' Jerrys Kids tonight,

the coldest night around here in ten years.  The
weather is frigid, but Rich is sssss.......smokin !
Rich put up the W with his third consecutive
"Rackless Night" and fourth straight win.  Charlie
and Ron also put up W's to carry No Mercy
to a 3 to 2 victory.

1/8/04 - The new year's first harbinger of Spring is, of course,
the start of the APA Spring Session.  No Mercy started
the session at Tom & Jerry's to take on the Snipers.
No Mercy was just like the weather, cold, winning
only one match against four losses.  Rich remained
hot for No Mercy putting up a W with his second
straight "Rackless Night" and third W in his last
three matches.

11/20/03 - No Mercy traveled to Julie's Bar to take on
Compromising Positions with the fourth place Playoff
position at stake.  Rich started No Mercy of with a W,
dominating the first match with a "Rackless Night"
performance.  Harry added a W in the fourth match,
but two W's was all No Mercy could manage on this
night they needed four.  No Mercy will not make the
Playoffs this session unless we win the wildcard
dreawing to be held on 11/29/03.

11/13/03 - No Mercy took on the Dixon's Lounge Make It team
tonight at Dixon's. No Mercy was down 2 to 0 after two matches
that went the distance.  Rich went the distance to put up a W in
the third match and Dennis overcame the weight in a SL-7 vs. SL-5
match for a W to even things up at 2 games to 2.  Dixon's took the
rubber match, though, leaving No Mercy with 2 wins against
3 losses.  Next week is the last week of the Fall Session and,
depending on other results from around the league,
hopefully No Mercy still has a sniff at the fouth playoff spot.

11/6/03 - No Mercy hosted the first place Don't Drop The Chalk
from Terry's Too tonight, within striking distance of a
Playoff spot.  After two matches No Mercy was down 2 to 0.
Charlie dominated to put up a W with 3 straight wins and a
Rackless Night.  Mike came through with a W in a tough
fourth match.  In the last match it was Paul who put up
the W in a SL-6 battle that went the distance and
gave No Mercy a 3 to 2 victory.

10/30/03 - No Mercy visited the Bottoms Up Bar & Grille
to take on The Balls of Fire tonight.  Mike started No Mercy
off with a W in the first match winning 4 to 1 in a SL-5 battle.
Marge put No Mercy up 2 to 1 winning all her games in the
third match.  Finally it was Paul winning 5 to 1 for the W
that carried No Mercy to a 3 games to 2 victory.

10/23/03 - It took more than 3½ hours to finish the first three
marathon matches against Cheecho's Young Guns
tonight at the Frontier Saloon.  Ron put up a W in the
second match but No Mercy fellbehind 2 to 1.  It looked
like it was going to be a very late night,  but Charlie won
three straight games for a W and then Rich won four
straight games for a "Rackless Night" W,  and No Mercy
was out the door by midnight with a 3 games to 2 victory.

10/16/03 - Three straight home dates should be a golden
opportunity to pile up some wins, but after two, No Mercy
has managed only a 3 out of 10 run.  Charlie put up
the only W for No Mercy tonight against the visiting
Julies High Voltage team on the way to a 1 to 4 loss.

10/9/03 - No Mercy hosted Julies Compromising Positions
tonight in the first of three straight Home dates.
There's no place like home,  and Ron and Rich put up W's
to stake No Mercy to a  2 games to 0 lead.  The next
three matches all went the distance with No Mercy
losing all three, however, and finishing the night with just
2 wins against 3 losses.

10/2/03 - No Mercy traveled to Matthews Tavern tonight
to take on the Stomp.  Mike and Charlie put up W's
but No Mercy came up short,  losing 3 to 2.

9/25/03 - No Mercy hosted Leo's Sharks tonight.  Rich
dominated his match to give No Mercy a 1 to 0 lead.
The next four matches were battles with Charlie and
Paul putting up W's to carry No Mercy to a 3 to 2 victory.

9/18/03 - No Mercy defied Hurricane Isabel and traveled to
the Clif-Side Tavern to take on Nice Rack. The only hurricane
to hit Clifton Heights was No Mercy as Marge, Harry, Mike,
and Dennis put up W's to lead No Mercy to a 4 games to 1 victory.

9/11/03 - No Mercy was host to Julies Silver Bullets tonight.
Harry Put up a W in the second match and Paul put up
a "rackless night" W in the last match accounting for
No Mercy's 2 wins against 3 losses.

9/4/03 - No Mercy traveled to the Red Lantern tonight to
take on the Nuggets in Week #1 of the Fall Session.
Mike, Ron, and Rich put up W's to stake No Mercy to
a 3 to 0 lead and ultimately to a 3 games to 2 victory.

8/14/03 - No Mercy hosted Tom N Jerry's Shotguns tonight in
the second round of the playoffs.  After two matches that each
went the distance, No Mercy was yet again behind 2 to 0.
Ron put up a W in the third match to keep No Mercy alive.
The fourth match went the distance before a mere quarter inch
of bad position stopped No Mercy in its tracks.  Neither of
No Mercy's two top guns would make it to the table tonight,
and the outstanding session and quest for the Championship,
which began in May, was suddenly over.   We'll be freezing
our butts off and Christmas shopping before we get this
chance again.  This is a big disappointment, but we'll
get over it just as soon as we start kicking some ass in the
upcoming Fall Session.

8/7/03 - What the funk?  No Mercy was in a funk after losing the
first two matches to Jerry's Kids from Tom N Jerry's in the
first round of the playoffs.  Not that No Mercy wasn't playing
well, it was just turning into one of those unexplainable nights
when nothing goes right.  Backs against the wall, facing
elimination, Rich responded with a 3 to 1 victory in the third
match to provide the spark.  Paul provided the explosion
winning the lag and five straight games to overcome the
SL6 vs SL3 handicap, earn a "Rackless Night" patch, and
get the W in the fourth match to tie it up at 2 to 2.  When the
smoke cleared, Captain DennyB sent Ron in to clean up.
Ron won the lag and four straight games for a "Rackless
Night" W to brush aside Jerry's Kids and advance No Mercy
to the second round of the playoffs.

7/31/03 - No Mercy hosted the Poachers from Hunt's Annex
Lounge tonight winning 3 games to 2 in the last week of the
Summer Session.  Mike started with what has become his customary
leadoff W.  Ron followed with a W in the second match.  Paul put up
the W in the third match, a battle of SL6s that went down to the last
ball of the last game.  No Mercy's 13 match win streak came
to a halt in the fourth match.  No Mercy finished the Summer Session
in 2nd place in the standings and will play the wild card team,
Jerry's Kids from Tom N Jerrys Tavern at the Frontier Saloon.

7/24/03 - No Mercy traveled to The Burgandy Lounge tonight
and shut out Lagging Behind 5 to 0.  This was the second
consecutive week No Mercy pasted the competition 5 to 0.
No Mercy was tied for fifth place in the standings, 8 games out
of first place but only 2 games out of second place, before
tonight's eruption.  Rich started things off with a W, coming
back to win 4 straight games after falling behind 3 to 0.  Harry
won all of his games to put up the second W for No Mercy.
Marge was next with a "Rackless Night" winning all of her
games to put up a W.  No Mercy then called out the "big guns."
Paul overcame the handicap in an SL 6 to 4 match with strong
play to win 5 games to 1.  Dennis overcame the handicap in
an SL 7 to 4 match winning 5 games to 1 and added an
exclamation point with a break and run in the final game.

In other news, Mike was honored with a plaque
commemorating 300 APA matches played and also
received a "Rackless Night" patch for the feat
which went unnoticed at the time.

7/17/03 - No Mercy traveled to Tom 'N Jerry's  to take on
Jerry's Kids tonight.  No Mercy started the night tied for
5th place in a division where none of the top four teams have
distanced themselves from the rest of the field in the quest for
the four playoff spots.  Ron started things off  for No Mercy with
a W in the first match.  Mike, Marge, and Rich followed up
with W's stakingNo Mercy to a 4 to 0 lead.  Jerry's Kids
had no shooter for the fifth match and forfeited, resulting
in a 5 games to 0 sweep for No Mercy.  With only two weeks
remaining in the session, No Mercy is in control of its own
playoff destiny.

7/10/03 - No Mercy started the night tied for fourth place in
the division as they played host to McBride's Cracked Balls.
The Cracked Balls shot well and denied No Mercy's bid to
move up with a 4 to 1 victory.  Down 0 games to 2, Marge
took charge with a W in the third match to breathe some life
into No Mercy, but that was the only bright spot as No Mercy
then dropped the next two.

7/3/03 - No Mercy traveled to Julie's Tavern tonight to
take on the Compromising Positions.  Once again Mike led
off with a W to stake No Mercy to a 1 to 0 lead.  This time,
however, the momentum carried over as Harry, Ron, and
Paul followed up with W's.  The last match went the distance
before No Mercy missed the shutout  in tonight's  4 to 1 victory.
No Mercy began the night tied for 5th place in the standings
but only 4 games behind the leader.

6/26/03 - Deja Vu all over again. For the third time since 12/12/02
it was Mike with a leadoff W to get No Mercy a 1 to 0 lead before
4 straight losses leave No Mercy on the short end of a 1 to 4 score.
This time, at the Frontier Saloon,  it was the Tom 'N Jerry Shotguns who
emerged victorious. It was  one of those rare nights when a typically
good No Mercy team was uncharacteristically out of sync.
No Mercy started the night tied for 3rd place, 3 games behind
the first place team.

6/19/03 - No Mercy traveled to Don's Bar in Eddystone to play
the  Don's. That's the team name shown on the League
Schedule.  I'm sorry I didn't take note of the real team name.
Anyhow, Ron led off with a W to give No Mercy the early
lead. The fourth match saw Paul put up a solid 5 to 2 Win
to even the series.  The Don's won the rubber match, though,
and sent No Mercy home with 2 wins against 3 losses.
No Mercy started the evening tied with Don's and two other
teams for second place, one game behind two teams tied
for first place.

6/12/03 - No Mercy played host to Tom & Jerry's Snipers
tonight.  Mike played 8 games to beat an SL6 to get No Mercy
off to a good start.  Paul got to within one shot of the
coveted "Rackless Night" patch with a strong 5 to 1 win in
the last match.  That was all the good news, however, as three
losses in between left  No Mercy with 2 wins against three
losses for the night.

6/5/03 - No Mercy visited Julie's Tavern to play High Voltage
tonight. No Mercy hadlost the first two matches when
Dennis stepped up to match his SL6 against their SL7.
Dennis streaked to a  4 to 1 victory to  jump start  No Mercy.
Charlie and Mike stepped up to win the last two matches
and No Mercy prevailed 3 to 2.

5/29/03 - No Mercy hosted the Six Sticks One Pocket from
Fox Smith VFW Post tonight.  No Mercy won the contest 3 to 2
on a night notable for the fact that the League failed to drop of
the score sheets.  Ron, Harry, and Marge put up the W's for No Mercy.

5/22/03 - Five of a kind!  Five W's that is.  That's what
No Mercy threw at Damage Inc. in a visit to Hunt's Annex
Lounge tonight. No Mercy was up 4 to 0 by 9:30pm on
quick victories by Ron, Dennis, Rich, and Charlie.
It was just about 11pm when Mike finally prevailed in a
competitive SL 5 battle that went seven games for
the final W in the 5 to 0 shutout.

5/15/03 - No Mercy hosted the Burgandy Lounge Who Dat
tonight and prevailed 3 to 2.  Harry and Mike put up the
wins.  Who Dat only had four shooters and
forfeited the last match.

5/8/03 - No Mercy visited the Burgandy Lounge to take on
the Outlaws on the first night of the Summer Session.
It was, unfortunately, not a good start for No Mercy as
Mike put up the only W in a 1 to 4 loss.

4/3/03 - No Mercy traveled to Julies Tavern tonight to
take on High Voltage.  No Mercy prevailed 3 to 2 on wins
by Harry, Mike, and Rich.  No Mercy did not make it to
the playoffs this session.

3/27/03 - No Mercy hosted The Cayman Cafe
Cue Dat tonight. No Mercy only managed one
win by Rich on the way to a 1 to 4 loss.

3/20/03 - No Mercy hosted The Burgandy Lounge
Usual Suspects tonight. Rich played well and
won the second match to even the score at 1 to 1.
Paul made the shot of the year to win the rubber game
of an SL 6 battle to get No Mercy even again at  2 to 2.
Finally, the Usual Suspects had no shooter on hand to
stay under the "23 rule" and the forfeit gave No Mercy
a 3 to 2 victory.

3/13/03 - No Mercy traveled to Cheecho's tonight.
After falling behind 0 to 1, Marge, Paul, Charlie, and
Dennis combined for four straight wins to carry
No Mercy to a 4 to 1 victory.

3/6/03 - No Mercy hosted Rookie's River Room TNT tonight.
Marge won for No Mercy  to tie the match at 1 to 1,  and Paul got a win
featuring a break and run to get No Mercy to 2 to 2.  In the end,
it was TNT who prevailed to win 3 to 2.

2/27/03 - No Mercy visited the Cayman Cafe tonight and
lost the contest 4 - 1.  Charlie won for No Mercy, providing
the only bright spot in a strangely out of sync night for No Mercy.

2/20/03 - No Mercy hosted The Burgandy Lounge Outlaws at
The Frontier Saloon tonight.  After falling behind 0-2,  No Mercy
prevailed 3-2 after the Outlaws had to forfeit the last match.
Marge and Dennis put up the W's with some strong play
to revive No Mercy.

2/13/03 - No Mercy jumped out to a 3 - 0 lead against Lagging Behind
at the Burgandy Lounge.  Mike, Harry, and Rich shot well to put up
the W's before the momentum sputtered out with two losses
to end the night.

2/06/03 - No Mercy hosted Julies Silver Bullets tonight.
Mike and Ron got No Mercy off to a good start winning
the first two matches, but the Silver Bullets came back
to win the last three.  No Mercy shooters played well in
those last three, but it was just one of those nights when
shooting well just wasn't enough.  Special mention to
Shawn of the Silver Bullets for his impressive win.

1/30/03 - No Mercy played the Matthews Bar Stomp tonight at
Matthews Bar. No Mercy was down 0-2 after two sets but
Harry and Ron got No Mercy back even at 2-2 to set up a battle
of SL6's for the deciding set. Denny B jumped out to a 3-0
lead against Stomp's Bryan in a set that came down to the
ninth game,  despite  Marge's imploring of  Denny B get it done
quickly so she could get home to eat.  Marge skipped dinner
only to find no food available at Matthews. Denny B prevailed
to carry No Mercy to a 3-2 win. Marge thinks Denny B was
dragging it out to tease her, but we all know DennyB would
never sandbag.

1/23/03 - No Mercy defeated Julie's Compromising Positions at the
Frontier Saloon 3 - 2.  Paul prevailed 4 - 3 over their SL7 to even
the match 1-1, Ron won to make it 2-2, and Charlie applied the
hammer in the final race to carry No Mercy to victory.

1/16/03 - No Mercy visited the Red Lantern to play the Nuggets
and lost the first 3 matches. Rich, from 3 down, won four straight
to take a match for No Mercy  and Denny B prevailed 5 - 3 in a
battle of SL6's to get a second win for No Mercy.

1/9/03 - No Mercy< is off to a 5-0 start thanks to the Leo's team not
showing up. While it's nice to be undefeated and in first place, the whole
idea of the APA is to actually play pool. However, if it means that Leo's is
dropping out and No Mercy won't have to go there to play,  that's a
good thing.  'nuff said about that.

1/8/03 - The Spring Session begins tomorrow at The Frontier Saloon where
No Mercy will now be representing The Frontier Saloon. Since the Spring
schedule has not been posted on the APA site, our opponent is unknown
at this time. No Mercy reluctantly leaves Walt's Red Rose Cafe where we
started many years ago, but we became second priority to a new
womens' dart team and would have lost some home dates to their
schedule. Thanks Walt. Womens's darts.....oh boy!

12/12/02 - The Second Round of the Fall Session playoffs saw No Mercy
back at the Burgundy Lounge against the Usual Suspects. Mike put
No Mercy up 1 - 0 but three straight losses ended the playoff run.

12/5/02 - No Mercy has made the Fall Session Playoffs.  The first playoff round
was Thursday December 5th against the Burgundy Lounge Outlaws at
The Burgundy Lounge in spite of the 7 inch snowfall.  No Mercy seemed
snowed under, quickly falling behind 2 games to none.  DennyB stepped up
against an SL3 and won 5 - 1 to keep No Mercy alive. Charlie came up big
in his match against an SL4 and then Paul prevailed 5-4 in a battle of SL6's
to advance No Mercy to the second round on December 12th.
