The Weymouth Town Council voted to support the Mayors position opposing the Mills Mall as part of the Base development.!!!

The Weymouth Town Council voted to support Mayor Madden's NO MILLS stance. The meeting was long and arduous and didn't end until well after 10pm. Liz Link gave a pro-Mills presentation and then the Councillors asked her questions. She touted the results of the Mills poll, but the Councillors told her they considered it to be a "push poll," designed more to influence public opinion and provoke a certain desired result rather than to gather accurate information. She said that the poll was "designed as an educational tool" and to collect information for her. She then admitted that she had not seen the questions, even though she was writing the check to pay the pollsters. All but one of the Councillors said that the constituents who had contacted them were overwhelmingly against the mall.
