Review
Draft Finding of Suitability for Transfer (FOST)
600+ Acres at the Former Naval Air Station, South Weymouth,
South Weymouth MA
This notice is to inform the
public that the Draft FOST is available for
public review. The FOST is for transfer of the following subparcels of the
Naval Air Station South Weymouth from the U.S. Navy to the South Shore
Tri-Town Development Corporation (SSTTDC): B-1 W1, INST-1, OS-A-1 and 2,
OS-C-1 and 2, OS-R-1 through 5, OS-W-1 through 3, SPUD-1 through 7, SR-R, and
SR-W-1 (629.8 total acres). THe Environmental Baseline Survey to Transfer is
included in the FOST package and provides updated information on the
environmental condition of the properties.
The 30-day review period will extend from Monday, 2 April 2001 until 2 May
2001. The draft FOST is available at the NAS South Weymouth Navy Caretaker
Site Office (Building 11), located on Shea Memorial Drive, South Weymouth, an
d at the NAS South Weymouth Public Information Repositories at the Weymouth,
Abington, Rockland, and Hingham Public Libraries.
