SOUTH SHORE TRI-TOWN DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION "Community Update"
The
SSTTDC is holds regular meetings at the Bowling Alley at the Base. Call the
SSTTDC at 781-682-2187 for information about their agendas. We have sent the
SSTTDC several e-mails asking them to update the Calendar on their web page
to no avail, so if you call for information you might mention that it would
be helpful to the public if the SSTTDC website were kept up to date.
For more info, call the SSTTDC at 781-682-2187
As we start the New Year, remember that our work is not done! The reuse plan is still in place with 240 acres zoned for retail, and the access road is still very much in the picture. We must continue to see that the choices made by the SSTTDC reflect the feelings of the everyday people of the affected towns. it is important for everyone to know COMPARE has not changed. We will remain as an open public forum where everyone can speak without intimidation, where we will present the pertinent facts to the people, and they can make up their own minds about the future of the former South Weymouth NAS.
SSTTDC Votes Mills Megamall Out!!!

Thank
you to
James Wilson of Weymouth
Bob Lundquist of Weymouth
Judy Killinger of Rockland and
James Lavin of Abington

Thank You Senator Kerry!
Sen. Kerry addressed the Sustainable Development Forum at MIT this week and singled out Mayor Madden for commendation on his opposition to the Mills alternative.
We need everyone to write to Senator Kerry. Call his office if you don't have time to write. Thank him for his commendation of Mayor Madden. Tell him that you agree with Mayor Madden's opposition to the Mills Corporation. Ask Senator Kerry to speak out against the Mills Corporation as well, and to speak in favor of alternative development at the South Weymouth Naval Air Station. Add your own personal touches as you see fit, but the important thing is to contact Senator Kerry as soon as possible.
