Shop Together! Eat Together!

Play Together!

(The following is from a handout that Mill$ has been passing around with comments from COMPARE, Inc. in red.)

The Mills is very pleased to be included in the plan to redevelop the former South Weymouth Naval Air Base and to become a part of the South Shore community.

Mill$ has been meddling in the reuse process since before the Reuse Plan vote was taken. They have gone to great lengths to custom fit this plan to their desires, while hiding their involvement from public scrutiny. "You're only voting on the Reuse Plan. You are not voting on the Mall", remember that one?

As the economic cornerstone of the Naval Air Base Reuse Plan, The Mills is delighted to play an important role in a plan that will create almost 1,000 acres of open and green space in your community.

The Reuse Plan will provide a minimum of 738 acres of open space without the MILL$ Corp. because that is what is mandated in the Plan itself !! What really delights them is that they can seem to take some credit for something that they have nothing to do with , and dosn't cost them one RED cent !!!!

Through the sale of land to companies like The Mills, the Tri-Town Development Corporation will build 40 playing fields and courts that cover eight sports. The Tri-Town will create hiking trails and picnic areas as well. These much-needed recreational facilities will benefit residents from Abington, Rockland, and Weymouth for decades to come!

At a sale price to the Mill$ Corp. of $153,000 an acre, the sale of 155 acres will net only 23.5 million. SSTDC estimates the cost for site infrastructure at 60 million dollars, of which Mill$ pays only $500,000. None of the costs of environmental mitigation have been estimated or included. You do the math !!! Sale of land to ANYONE at fair market value of over $300,000 an acre for prepared commercial land , plus available public, and private funding can pay for these facilities without the destructive impacts of the Mill$ SPRAWL project.

The Mills welcomes your input as we move forward with our plans to build the New England Mills. In addition to open space, we are excited that our investment will spur high tech growth, the creation of housing for our senior citizens as well as housing for the,United States, Coast Guard. While the New England Mills will occupy approximately IO percent of the Naval Air Base, your feedback will insure that we all grow together as we shop together, eat together and play together.

The Mill$ dirt cheap payment is not necessary to Spur high tech, or any other growth. They know NOTHING about what the people of this area NEED!!!! The development of senior housing was also set forth in the reuse plan, and the U.S. Coast Guard took custody of the former navy housing from the U.S.Navy, but the Mill$ would like you to think they had something to do with it. Actually they are really excited about the fact that they will acquire another 400,000 + Sq Ft of land at the same, give away price, as part of this deal. This will be land they can sell as they see fit to whomever, at "fair market value", or a fat profit that SSTDC will never see. While the Mill$ will occupy about 10% of the site, they will be glad to bring you over 70% of the traffic, an estimated 400% increase in crime rate, the irrevocable alteration of your towns into SPRAWL SLUMS, that will choke your neighborhoods to death together!!! The only thing "our's" Mill$ is interested in is OUR LAND, AND OUR MONEY !!!!!!! WE are going to suffer the consequences of their GREED for generations to come. THEY will not partake of our suffering, because THEY don't live here. In fact when you ask them, they DON"T LIVE NEAR A MILL$ MALL!!!!!!! WE ecourage you to call and give them an earfull!!!! YOUR FEEDBACK WILL INSURE THAT WE DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THESE REAL-ESTATE JACKALS WHO WILL USE OUR TOWNS LIKE RENTED MULES, AND TAKE THEIR PROFITS FROM OUR TERRIBLE, AND IRREVOCABLE LOSS!!!!!
