| Hello! Greetings! I am a master student in electrical engineering, studying at University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, BC, Canada. My master project topic is in on-chip high speed serial IO. This is a really interesting topic right now because the bus architecture currently being used (like the PCI slot on your motherboard) is just not fast enough. So what the tech companies are doing is to replace this bus architecture with serial communication links that can run at multi-gigahertz (compare to PCI's 66MHz to 133MHz). I....sorry....enough of this geek talk. |

I immigrate to Canada from Taiwan at the age of 13. Just out of elementary school, have no clue what's good
in the world, and I was sent to the country everyone associates with snow, Eskimo, and beaver.
For ya Americans, it's beaver and lumber jacks. I'm sure some of you have seem the Molson
Canadian commercial. :) Anyways, since then I have spent the past 13 or so year living in the beautiful city of Vancouver of British Columbia. The faculty of Electrical Eng is one of the older faculty in the university, so is its building and the equipments. I don't want to complain too much since I'm enjoying the lowest tuition in the nation. Nonetheless, it's one of the best in the nation, and I really enjoy my life here. The news is we will have a brand new electrical engineering building by 2005/2006. The artistic rendering of the design is out already. It's just gorgeous. |

I like sports, especially basketball, volleyball and golf.
Golf, in particular, gives me the most headache. How hard could it be to wack a little white
ball with a stick with oversized steel head??? Not hard, I thought, yet, until this day, i'm still
a huge handicap. |
