"Words"

We all have in us the capacity to change the future, to make our own impact upon the lives of everyone with whom we come in contact?

If this be the case, why do we wander thoughtlessly through the lives of other people?  Why do we not make sure that each individual is positively touched by us in some way?  If each person is prompted, even at the most troublesome times of their lives to return a sharp word with a smile and/or a positive comment.  Imagine how much better this world could be . . .

How many of us has uttered a word and the second it has escaped from our lips we wish it could be called back.  The damage has already been done before our minds has time to assimilate what has passed over our lips.  If only it could be called back!  Called back like the words on the screen of a computer.  If we knew this could only positively modify the future for all mankind how much more careful each and everyone of us would be with words.  Words are the tools of the world.  They are used to sway, conjole, entreat;  they can bring strong and powerful men to their knees and a smile to the lips of a child  . . .

How much more power is ever needed?  Do we actually need any other weapons for intelligent people?

When I Say, 'I'm a Christian'"
(Written by Carol Wimmer)

When I say, "I'm a Christian"
I'm not shouting, "I am saved"
I'm whispering, "I get lost"
"That's why I chose this way."
When I say, "I'm a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need someone to be my guide.
When I say, "I'm a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong
I'm professing that I'm weak
and pray for strength to carry on.
When I say, "I'm a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success
I'm admitting I have failed
and cannot ever pay the debt.
When I say, "I'm a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
my flaws are all too visible
but God believes I'm worth it.
When I say, "I'm a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches
which is why I seek His Name.
When I say, "I'm a Christian"
I do not wish to judge
I have no authority
I only know I'm loved.
