CLIFF MYERS
(aka Catfish Cliff)

Catfish Cliff started playing music with Frankie and Tim Thrower and Jimmy Levine in "The Next Of Kin" band in the mid 70's. He started out playing the harmonica then in 1976 he bought "The Station Inn Bluegrass Club". He then started playing the upright bass with the house band and the electric bass with "The Next Of Kin" band. After Frankie moved to Colorado he played regularly with J.T. Gray and "The Nashville Skyline".  They had a pretty regular gig at "The Station Inn" with such guests as Bill Monroe, Earl Scruggs, Marty Stuart, Vassar Clements and a host of other stars. After moving "The Station Inn" to its present location he sold the club and moved to Denver, Colorado and played in a club band until moving back to Nashville in 1980. After arriving back in Nashville he played in several bands and even toured with an Elvis Impersonator, Jon Wilson. In the mid 80's he played with several songwriters such as Steve Yocum, Kenny Jones and Terry Coyle who was the original drummer for "The Next Of Kin" Band in the 70's. In 1986 Patty Loveless came to town and he recorded a demo tape with her that she used to get her recording contract.  In 1996 "The Next Of Kin" band got back together and played for 25th class reunion for the Father Ryan class of 1972.
