Ed Reed has the speed and agility of a CB, and is the best cover safety in this draft. He instantly makes any defense a force to be reckoned with, and with so few quality SSs left in the league, don't expect him to stay on the board for long.

Rodney Harrison is an intimidating force, both in the run and the pass game. He makes QBs think twice before throwing in his direction, and he can also rush the passer with ferocity. Able to play zone or match up against an elite WR in man coverage, he is a must-have for any defense.

It is his coverage skills combined with his top speed and consistency that make Chris McAlister such an extraordinary player. He is the definition of a shutdown corner- just match him up against your opponent's best WR and let him work. He instantly elevates any defense to solid or beyond.
Ty Law is a solid CB with a nose for the ball. He fits well into any defensive system as he can defend the pass as well as cover the run and rush the passer. You can match him up against your opponent's best WR in confidence and play 10 on 10 with the rest of your defenders.

What Troy Polamalu lacks in elite coverage skills he makes up for with pure speed. The fastest of all the safeties in this draft, you can bet he will get to the ball carrier in a hurry and arrive with a bad attitude. He also is an asset in pass coverage, run coverage, he tackles well, and he can rush the passer also.
1st Round
Mike Minter is a solid SS who will instantly make any defense better. He does a little bit of everything, but his real asset is his ability to cover the run and his tackling abilities.

Deion Sanders is a pure cover CB, and as such his rating is hurt by his poor tackling ability. So if you're looking for a CB to make a game-saving tackle in the run game, look elsewhere; but if you're looking for a DB with the speed to cover an elite WR, Deion is the man. They don't call him "Prime Time" for nothing.

This WR
Willie Williams is a solid CB who has great speed, covers well, and tackles well also. One of the most consistent CBs in this draft, he will make a nice addition to any defense.
3rd Round
OVR- 81
Chris Gamble is solid in every respect. He has average speed and above-average cover skills, but he occasionally misses tackles. His great hands are perhaps a hidden asset, and he will serve a defense well as a number 2 CB.

Ricky Manning has the agility and coverage skills of a top-notch CB, and his tackling ability is adequate. His lack of speed will make it difficult for him to keep pace with elite WRs, however, and this might relegate him to the role of Nickle back, though he could start for some teams.

Chad Scott has average speed and agility, but lacks top coverage skills. He tackles well and is very consistent and strong as well. He could easily break into almost any team's starting lineup at CB.
4th Round

Tyrone Poole has above-average cover skills and his speed and agility could very well make him a starter on a team in need of a solid number 2 CB. His tackling is average, but he doesn't catch well so expect more tipped balls than INTs.

Gary Baxter is a solid CB who is not the best cover CB, but makes up for it with his run-stopping and tackling abilities. He also catches the ball well, has adequate speed and agility, and can easily play CB, SS, or FS.

Randall Gay broke into the Patriot's starting lineup because of injury, but remained there because of his athleticism and his ability to cover. He has all the measurables and tackles well. Where he will struggle is defending the run game. He makes a perfect addition to any secondary as a Nickle back.

Artrell Hawkins is prone to make mistakes in coverage, but he has the speed and agility to recover quickly and the stamina to stay on the field for as long as needed. If you can tolerate a mistake here or there, he makes the perfect Nickle or Dime back in any secondary.
5th Round
20.
Dante Wesley has good speed and adequate agility, though he is a bit lacking in coverage. This, combined with his poor tackling abilities will probably relegate him to a Dime back on most defenses.
