This isn't really a trick, but it should help you if your disc is scratched and it causes the game to freeze at specific times that prevent you from fully playing the game.
When the game freezes, replace the current disc with another one and it should unfreeze itself.
This works because each disc contains the entire game bar the FMVs and certain changes to the world map. There are some things you should note however:
- DO NOT use this during an FMV, you will end up seeing FMVs from the disc you replace it with or it will just freeze more.
- This DOES NOT WORK on the world map, but IT DOES work entering a town from the worldmap
- You should replace the disc with one you haven't used yet (eg: if you're in disc 2, use disc 3)
- If you're on disc 3, the other discs may work, as long as they're not too scratched or aren't scratched in the same places
- I have only done this on PS2, where it works 80% of the time. PSone should be fine, but I don't know about PC.
