The Discworld Petition Page

This page is intended to be a central meeting point for the purpose of changing rules and policies of the Discworld MUD. If you don't know what a MUD is, try the Mud Connector. This page is managed by a Discworld MUD player, not a creator, and is completely unofficial. It is not created, operated, or sanctioned by any member of the Discworld MUD management. It was borne out of frustration when dealing with various rules, policies, and decisions made on the MUD which may not be in everyone's best interest. It contains a variety of petitions for this purpose, and the opportunity to start new petitions. Hopefully, if we can get enough signatures on a petition, we can change some of the things that need changing. To learn more about my philosophy, and why I'm doing this, read my Philosophy.

Philosophy

Current Petitions:

Petition for Reinstatement of Quest XP
Petition for Alteration of Policy Regarding Multiple Characters

Petition for New Petition (Please Include Supporting Arguments)

Currently, all petitions are being handled through the guest book button. This may change in the future, but as of this point I am not sufficiently .html savvy to create the necessary submission forms myself.

** Rules **
(Will be enforced)
1) No Foul Language.
This is (mostly) a serious forum, and etiquette should be followed.
2) Sign Only as a Character You Own.
No signing for other people.

** Guidelines **
(Exceptions may be made, but try to follow these guidelines. Abuse may result in censoring or removing the offending post.)
1) Please read the complete explanation of the particular petition you are signing. Otherwise, you may not be signing what you think you are .
2) I ask that your character be at least 1 day old. This is to prevent spurious creation of characters just to push a petition through, or petitions from total newbies who don't understand the subject.
3) Sign only once per Player. I can not enforce this, but our petitions are lent greater weight when we follow this guideline. Creators can probably figure out when one person is using several characters and may find the petition easier to ignore.
3) Sign only once per Petition. Multiple signatures are encouraged, but use a different petition subject each time (not including requests for new petitions.)
4) Please use the Comments/Suggestions box for its intended purpose only: Offering possible alternatives to the MUD creators regarding the specified petition subject, or to request a new petition. Regular signatures should leave this box empty.

When a particular petition reaches 50+ signatures, I will create an email listing those signatures and their suggestions and send it to the Discworld Creators. I may also contact specific Creators individually in attempts to draw their attention, and generally make myself as noisy and hard to ignore as possible until a formal response is agreed upon by a committee of Creators (listing which Creators took part) and sent to me for posting at this website.

New petitions will be added to the petition list when at least three people request it, and a supporting argument is supplied and agreed upon by all three. Email addresses must be supplied by these three for verification purposes.
