As the song ended, Mark and Elizabeth snuck out of the ballroom. They quickly walked to the elevator, trying not to laugh. "I can't believe we just did that," said Elizabeth.

Mark pushed the button for the lobby "I'm more surprised they didn't thrown us out." Elizabeth smiled in response. THey rode for a moment in silence, not knowing what to say. "Are you on tonight?" he asked breaking the silence.

"No, I'm not on till noon," she replied. "What about you?"

"Nope, had the graveyard last night." He waited for a response. Not getting one he asked, "I know this great jazz club a few bolcks from here, you want to grab something to eat?"

Elizabeth was slightly taken back by his offer. "Sure," she replied as they exited the elevator. They crossed the lobby and left the hotel, walking the few blocks to the jazz club.

After they were seated, they ordered and watched the warm up band as they waited for their food. The opeening set finished iand was not quiet enough to have somewhat of a conversation.

"I think that was one of the most interesting conferences that I've been to in a long time," said Mark smiling.

"Maybe it's a good thing I didn't give my speach," she replied. "It wasn't going to be the best."

"I don't think it would have been too bad. The footprints on all your slides would have definatly caught people's attention."

"It would definatly show me qualifications," she was cut off by The Fins as then came onstage and start to perform.

"Care to dance, Dr. Corday?" asked Mark standing up.

"But of course," she said standing to take his hand.

"And where were you last night?" asked Carol.

"Wouldn't you like to know," replied Mark not wanting to respond. He took a sip of his coffee before responding. "Really, it was nothing." He picked his head up slightly when he saw Elizabeth come into Doc Magoo's.

She went over to the counter and ordered her coffee. Seeing Mark and Carol at a booth, she went over to join them. Mark slid over to give her some room. "Mark," she said. "Thank you for last night I had a wonderful time."

Carol looked at Mark with her eyebrow half coocked, "nothing, huh?"
