LOS RUIDOS DE LA RESISTENCIA

what a nice saturday! it was march 15th of 2003. In Riobamba (1 hour from my city Ambato) played SQP (HCpunk from lima - peru), Kriminalistika, Kontaminacion Mental (Riobamba), La Demencia Extrema, Rebelion Disidente (Guayaquil), Pesmenben IV, Distorsion Social (Ambato), and Retaque (Quito). Carlos, his wife Diana, me and Pablo took the bus to Riobamba and we went to the gig place, it was in the second floor of a police station! by the way, it was the day against police represion! We found some friends and while the sound was checked we were drinking beer and checking fanzines in the parche. The gig was opened with the band Operacion Canguro, they played intense grindcore noise without bass and two singers, it was full of energy!!!, after them, played Kontaminacion Mental, a punk rock trio who played covers. Then, was the turn for Kriminalistika, Riobamba fucking grindcore with political lyrics. this time was the turn for Rebelion Disidente, the
band of David, Voz Rebelde zine editor. This time the line up was different, but better, with pato (Operacion Canguro singer) on drums, greater sound and improved songs!!!! noisy fast crust!!!. Retaque went to the stage with a grrrl on chorus and they played well! people sang their songs and the pogo was cool! anarkopunk band, but i dont understand why
the skinhead singer wears and ecuadorian weapon shield when they are supposed to be against nazionalism, funny, isnt it?. Well, when Pesmenben IV started to play, a lot of people came forthward to see us, it was pure fun! the crowd were clapping and moshing our short songs, after some noisecore bursts and jokes about heavy metal, some people started to insult us, some others didnt get the joke when we claimed to be "anarko satanists".... but it was fun any way, people screaming our songs while carlos were on the floor with the guitar! "majestic" ,ha!. When the peruvian band SQP was playing, I was drinkin and talking with my friends from Guayaquil, what I appreciate from this band was HC punk with energy
and anarko lyrix. The thrashpunks Distorsion Social played a great show! I even make breakdance when they played "raperos", an anti rappers song (I like hip hop thou!). Finally played Demencia Extrema, excellent HCpunk with some grind and slow elements, great!!!!! differetn topics on lyrics, not only the typical anti-everything cliche or im a drunk cliche. Cool guys! there wasnt any trouble, everybody were gentle and kind! after the show I ended the night drinking and smoking weed under the rain of Riobamba,
