One death is a tragedy. A million deaths is a statistic.

Introduction:

Welcome to my first battle-report. I've been trying to choose how I would write this, and I've had many versions of this battlereport. But I think this version is the best because it gives you the full scope of this battle, which by the way, is one of the best replays I've ever seen. At the end of this BR you must DL the rep and love it and call it george.

Any comments / criticism is welcome :) Have fun.

Breeze is god. what? Where am I?It was just another game on Lost Temple, just another 3v9, and just another Terran vs. Protoss. The commanders are, in the oddly homosexual purple corner, KeNKa[SWE](Kenka). In the insecurely heterosexual orange corner, ZeeRaX[BG](Zeerax).

Kenka starts off with a standard wall-in. He scouts at 11 supply, which is later then Zeerax did. Zeerax opts with Goons and Observers to start, to fend off any vulture activity.

Good thing, too, because Kenka quickly organizes a strike that includes vultures. Two Vultures, three Marines, one Tank and two SCVs, to be exact. However, the tank included does not have seige. Zeerax's four Dragoons quickly put down the attack at only one loss. However they are quickly reinforced, and good as new.

The next 5 minutes are nothing special. Both sides build up, Kenka getting tanks and Zeerax getting goons and zealots.

I realize now how hard it is to think of good alt text =[At about 10 minutes Kenka tries to drop the cliff at the 9 main with two Tanks and four Goliaths. It, uh, didn't go too well O_O. Storm owns the Goliaths and the remaining Zealots take the two tanks with ease

Two minutes later Kenka tries again for the 9 natural cliff, and this time is a little more succesful. He stops mining in Zeerax's mineral only, but only for a few seconds. It is resumed when the tanks and goliaths are again put down.

A minute later Kenka tries to expand to the 12 o'clock natural, only to be met by the main part of Zeerax's army. They engage, however with cliffed tank support the Dragoons and High Templars are easily defeated.

Meanwhile, in the south, Kenka harasses Zeerax's expansion at the 6 o'clock main with vultures. He ends up not doing much but making Zeerax aware it was undefended. Nice try though.

Another minute later and the fighting at the 12 o'clock natural has been renewed. A few Goons and Zealots showed up to ruin the the SCV's time, but a few Tanks and Goliaths, in turn, end the Protoss's life.

gene i assWhat happened next was a little odd: 9 Dropships and Shuttles past right by each other on their way to their respective drops, and neither player notices. Zeerax is going for the 12 main, which is being fortified as the shuttles move up the map. Kenka is going for that favorite spot of his, the 9 o'clock cliff. Both end up failing, but both stop mining for a short time, cancelling each other out.

But, in a very good move Kenka cliffs the 6 natural and stopps all mining there. He dropped as soon as his 9 cliff drop failed. It took a while for Zeerax to get his dropships over there, and so Kenka gained a little advantage.

Zeerax, after taking out the above drop, uses those same units to drop the 12 o'clock main again. No Protoss units lasted more the one second, however, once the battle began.

A few minutes pass, with heavy troop movement. However, there were no attacks. That quickly changed when Kenka drops the 6 o'clock main. Zeerax's Zealots and Goons are waiting, but the Terran commander does better then his Toss counter-part did in his last drop.

But again,Kenka pulls off the duel drop. He cliffs the 6 o'clock natural AGAIN, and again stopps mining, and a few cannons.

The mini-map alt text is great, I swear. After the 6 natural is taken care of Zeerax moves three Carriers to take out the 3 natural. However, it didn't really matter, and in the end, when the carriers were destroyed by cloaked wraiths, it was a bad trade.

One thing I always felt bad about was kicking Grandma in the head with my football shoes on. But what was her head doing right by the football like that? And how did the football get in her bed?As you can see the map, at 25 minutes, was divided. Zeerax has a loose control over the middle. Neither island was taken, and those could be the next hot spots, as opposed to now, where the 6 and 12 main's and, to a lesser extent, naturals are.

Then in the next two minutes (26-28) there were two seperate drops at the 12 main. The first one was succesful to an extent, but was eventually turned away by goliaths. The second one had more promise. But then the Battle Cruisers showed up.

The Battle Cruisers used to stop the 12 main assault, and the ones produced since then, flew down to the 6 natural with Tanks and Goliaths to cliff it. Their assault stopped mining, but by the end of the attack only two Battle Cruisers were alive, and both were low in HP.

Zeerax sees an obvious chance to gain a foothold in the 3 o'clock area while the Terran rebuild. He attacks with most of his army, save some Zealots and High Templars at home.

With only 2 tanks at the 3 main it was going to be quite the battle. Well, it was going to be quite the battle. Then the saviors returned, in the form of Battle Cruisers and completely tore apart the Protoss force.

Meanwhile Zeerax tries to expand in the top left island. He is stopped by Vultures. He quickly strikes back with a drop on the island. Battle Cruisers are sent to secure it for Kenka. The Battle Cruisers easily take the island, but it was all a trick.

Zeerax sends his entire army into the canyon between 12 and 6. They take out the ground defenses easily, and start advancing to the 12 natural. But, before they could get there the Battle Cruisers return. The Protoss force is, again, ripped apart.

Kenka sends his fleet back to the top left island to reconquer it. He does this so easily, he decides to end the game right here.

Kenka sends all of his Battle Cruisers to the 9 natural. It is killed easily, and the Battle cruisers advance. However, in a game saving move the Battle Cruisers are stopped cold. Literally.
wowowowow. GG
Three well placed stasis fields take the whole fleet out of commision, and within 15 seconds most of the Protoss army was right by them, ready to destroy them. A quick 5 storms later, the fleet is nothing but history, and Kenka is down 100 supply.

As he has before, Zeerax takes advantage of the lack of Terran troops. He attacks the 3 mineral only, then moves on to the 12 main. Stasis takes care of the 6 Battle Cruisers, and Kenka has very few ground troops. After the dust has settled the 12 main has fallen, the 12 natural has fallen and the 12 mineral only is in the hands of the Protoss. Finally, the top left island falls under Protoss control.

But it's not over. Kenka fortifies the 3 o'clock mineral only with tanks, goliaths and turrets.

Then, after 2 minutes of massing Kenka pushes to the 12 mineral only. Both armies are destroyed during this battle, and again both commanders attempt to mass forces.

Kenka goes on the offensive again, dropping the top left island. His Goliaths and Vultures are caught in stasis however, and are destroyed quickly.

Again Kenka fortifies the northern plain. He pushes across it to the 3 o'clock mineral only, which is the only mineral spot that is still being fought over. Whoever gets permanent control over it will probably win the game.

Kenka gains control of the mineral only with goliaths Once again it is Kenka on the offensive. He goes top drop the top left island with 4 dropships full of goliaths and vultures.Gods are fragile things; they may be killed by a whiff of science or a dose of common senseHowever this time his dropships are caught in a stasis before he can drop, and are defeated easily.

Zeerax decides it's his turn to go on an offensive, and pushes up to the north. He is quickly killed, however, by Goliaths.

Zeerax is a persistant one, though, and gathers his carriers and Dragoons for another crack at the 12 mineral only. They take it down with ease this time, and take the 3 mineral only down with it. The road to the main is free now, and they come crashing in.

GG.

Lessons Learned:
-The 1.10 replay bug owns me. There were a thousand good zerg replays I could have used as well. But I'm glad I found this =]

Comment and criticize people, it's the only way I'll get better =]
