FOR ALL PLAYERS, OFFICIALS, PARENTS & SPECTATORS.
1. All persons attending matches controlled by the League do so with the permission and license
of the League and not otherwise.
2. At the time of registration or at some time, all carers of players, coaches, managers, trainers,
runners and other persons are to be handed a copy of the Code.
3. All such carers, coaches, managers, trainers, runners, and other persons must agree to be bound by
this Code prior to acceptance of registration of their child or themselves.
4. No person attending a match controlled by the League shall
(a) Use offensive or obscene language to any player,referee, touch judge, official
or another spectator.
(b) Enter the field of play during the course of a match without prior approval
of the Ground Manager appointed by the League.
(c) Disputes the decision of a Referee or touch judge.
(d) Assault or act with aggression to any other person.
(e) Behave in any way contrary to the spirit of the games.
(f) Behave in any way that disturbs the enjoyment of the match by any other
person or brings discredit to the League.
(g) Act in such a way as to exhibit racial intolerance by language or conduct
to any other person.
(h) Refuse to accept the reasonable direction of Ground Manager or Official of the League
or of the Club, which that person is supporting.
5.1 Any person contravening Rule 4 of this Code may be reported by the ground Manager to the
Manager of the team, which that person is supporting.
5.2 Upon receiving a report from the Ground Manager, the Team Manager must draw the attention
of the offending person to this Code.
5.3 The Ground Manager must note on the Incident Report Form the time of and nature of his report
to the Team Manager.
5.4 In the event that the offending person does not desist from the offending conduct, such person
will be asked by the Ground Manager to leave the ground immediately.
5.5 The request to leave the Ground and the time thereof must be noted by the Ground Manager on
the Incident Report Form.
5.6 In the event that a person refuses to obey the direction of the Ground Manager, he/she may
direct the Referee to terminate the match.
5.7 In the event that the match is so terminated, that fact will be reported to the League which it may at
its absolute discretion, against which there will be appeal, award points for the match to the team
other than that which the offender is supporting or declare that neither side will receive any points
for the match.
5.8 (a) The Ground Manager cannot identify a particular person who is contravening Rule 4 or
(b) More than one person associated with a team is contravening or has contravened Rule 4,
the Ground Manager may report that behaviour to the Manager of the team which that person or
persons are supporting.
5.8.2 Upon receiving a report from the Ground Manager, the team Manager must draw the attention of
his Code to the supporters of that team.
5.8.3 The ground Manager must note on the Incident Report Form the time of and nature of his/her
Report to the Team
Manager.
5.8.4 In the event that the offending person or persons do not desist from the offending conduct, the
Ground Manager may direct the Team Manager to request the offending person or persons to
Ground Manager leave the ground.
5.8.5 The request to leave the ground and the time thereof must be noted by the Ground Manager on
the Incident Report Form.
5.8.6 If the offending person or persons do not leave the ground, or if the Team Manager does not follow
a direction made by a Ground Manager under the Clause 5.8, the Ground Manager may direct the
Referee to terminate the match and Rule 5.7 will apply.
6. Clubs are responsible for the conduct of their members, parents of players and the spectators who
support them.
7. Clubs, which do not exercise control over their members, parents of players or spectators amy be
called upon by the League to accept responsibility for such offence and the following penalties may
apply.
(A)
1. A fine not exceeding $500 and / or
2. Loss of competition points and / or
3. The suspension of the offender from attending future Matches, and the player
from playing.
(B) For second offence
The temporary suspension of the player and / or team and / or club from the
competition.
(C) For the third offence
Suspension of the player and / or team and / or club either for the remainder
of the season or
permanently.
8. Abuse to referees, touch judges, officials or players of the League may result in either a player (who
is the offender) being stood down, or the registration of the child whose carer so offended being stood
down or cancelled - at the discretion of the Junior League.
9. Where a team does not have a Team Manager at the ground, any request or direction made by a
Ground Manager to any official of that team or official of that team's Club shall be regarded as a
direction to the Team Manager for the purpose of the Code.
10. Abuse or Assault of Referees, Touch Judges or Officials by a player, parent, guardian, spectator or
another official may result in the players registration being cancelled or life suspension and or legal
action taken against the offender.
THE PLAYER
You are reminded that the purpose of this Code is to provide you with an enjoyable
and safe sporting
environment, where you are able to develop as a player, gaining
personal fulfillment and satisfaction
through friendly competition.
ALL PLAYERS SHOULD
PLAY within the rules
Be a GOOD SPORT on and off the field
NEVER become involved in foul play
SHAKE HANDS with and thank the opposition players and officials after the match
WIN, LOSE or
DRAW
RESPECT the Referee's decision. Leave any questions to your CAPTAIN
NEVER use BAD LANGUAGE or SLEDGING against opposition players, supporters or
officials
REMEMBER that winning should be strived for but only by using fair means. When
the game is lost
we must be GOOD SPORTS
NEVER abuse your own team mates
TEAM OFFICIALS
Please remember that the purpose of this Code is to provide your players with
an enjoyable and safe sporting environment, where they are able to develop as
players, gaining personal fulfillment and satisfaction through friendly competition.
ALL TEAM OFFICIALS SHOULD
SET a good example for your players
BE POSITIVE - Aviod criticism or ridicule of your players
ACTIVELY DISCOURAGE foul play, sledging or any unsportsmen-like behaviour by your players
REMOVE from the field any players whose behaviour is not acceptable
DEVELOP players respect for the Rules and Authority
NEVER let match disappointment cause a loss of control
REALISE that violent comments and sideline behaviour can lead to violence on
the field
TEACH your players that an honest effort is as important as a win
DEVELOP team respect for your opponents' ability
AVIOD OVER USE of Talented Players
KEEP your own knowledge of coaching and training methods up to date
THE PARENT / SPECTATOR
You are reminded that the purpose of this Code is to provide an enjoyable and safe sporting environment, where your chil is able to gain personal fulfillment
and satisfaction through friendly competition.
ALL PARENTS / SPECTATORS SHOULD
SUPPORT their child and team in a positive manner
NEVER let match disappointment cause a loss of control
NEVER use abusive language with your team, the opposition or supporters
NEVER sledge the Referee, players or supporters
REALISE that we don't need to blame anyone for defeat
REALISE that the most important part of playing Rugby League is for development, both physical
and in character of your child
BE POSITIVE with your child to avoid illegal / foul play and display Good Sportsmanship
REALISE that violent comments and sideline behaviour can lead to violence on the field
