I bought this guitar on a trade in for a Mexican Stratocaster. I had just gotten a new job and I finally had the money to afford a professional quality instrument. Up to this point I had been playing on the afore mentioned Mexican Strat and other student-grade guitars. This was my first REAL guitar and it was worth every penny.

The American Deluxe Telecaster is Fender's top of the line Telecaster. Unique to the Deluxe series of guitars is the S-1 switching system which allows the two Telecaster pickups to be played in parallell or as a series. The switch is cleverly hidden on top of the volume knob. The pickups are Samarium Cobalt Noiseless (SCN) pickups) that were designed by renowned pickup guru Bill Lawrence especially for Fender. The SCN pickups eliminate 60 cycle hum and microphonics, yet they out perform just about any other pickup out there.
