original series, he helps Keisuke with research outside the book. At first he didn't believe him, but now Tets has learned to believe anything.
(in the rpg)When he learns that Yui has gone back into the book, he is distraught knowing that he can't help her. He and Keisuke befriend Ryo and Matt, the other two outsiders. They are once more delegated to being the observers. When Tetsuya learns that Ryo can go into the book and help those inside, he puts all his hope in Ryo. Tetsuya is somewhat suspicious of newcomers, but if they pass Keisuke's test, then they are alright in his book.
