Past: his parents died when his house was set on fire, his powers protected him so he survived (suspects fire was deliberate, townspeople were scared of him), is sent to Tokyo to live in an orphanage, wouldn't share his secret with anyone (he was scared of what might happen), never became close with anyone.. until now...
Role in the story: Courtney's classmate, he forsaw her entrance into the book, but didn't manage to prevent it, Ryo is the one reading the book, using his powers, he can communicate with those inside.... Ryo is powerful enough to be a threat to Maosi, he is later found out to be the one meant to be the Guardian of the book, and that he is related to a certain someone... (ugh..), he will do anything to help Courtney (he falls in love with her), he is currently fighting Maosi and trying to find Courtney so he can tell her he wasn't the one who hurt her
