UNITY A Beginning - 57 in 1957

Unity Lodge No. 115 came into being as a Prince Hall Lodge in consequence of some dissatisfactions the brethren were having with their grand lodge. Brother Reginald Guy, who was then the Worshipful Master, entered into discussions with certain Prince Hall Masons of Dayton about switching allegiance. It was eventually decided that Brother Guy and his brethren would join the Prince Hall Masonic Family as a Lodge under a dispensation which was issued by the Grand Master, Most Worshipful James B. Simmons. Thus, the Lodge was instituted on August 25, 1956 by Brother Simmons.

Brother Reginald A. Guy was appointed Worshipful Master, Otha Adams, Senior Warden, and Earl Railey, Junior Warden. On November 17, 1957 the Lodge was dedicated and consecrated by the Grand Master, Most Worshipful Guy R. Taylor. The following brothers became charter members:
