Volunteer Opportunities

The group is held together by the efforts of our volunteer members. In order to keep NOCHE active and interesting you may want to consider volunteering to plan an activity or help out with one of the larger events. Through group consensus, a small group serves as a Coordinating Team. Their role is simply to ensure that the work is being shared, and events are scheduled in a sensible manner. Coordinators are not expected to plan all the events. If you plan an activity or event we ask that you inform one of the coordinators to ensure smooth scheduling.

NOCHE does not have membership fees. The costs of running this group are funded entirely by the generous donations of its volunteer members.
Welcome to the North Okanagan Christian Home Educators (NOCHE) website; We are a Christ centred support group for homeschool families in Vernon, British Columbia and the surrounding areas. We exist to provide a place for parents to meet and be strengthened in their roles as educators; to encourage each other with God's Word; and to bring inspiration through the sharing of ideas and information. We also wish to enhance our children's opportunities by planning social and educational activities for them to participate in.

The purpose of our group is to provide a place where homeschooling parents who live in the North Okanagan can give and receive fellowship, inspiration and encouragement. We are a group of homeschoolers who volunteer to keep this vision active in our community. We do this through informal get-togethers and scheduled meetings. The goal is to see Godly friendships emerge. We also desire to see our children develop into all that God wants them to be. Therefore, we seek to provide educational and social events that will help us build them up and assist us with the process of loving them into the Kingdom.

Wherever you are on your homeschool journey, whether you have preschool children and you're thinking about homeschooling, or perhaps you're dissatisfied with the experience of your school-aged children or you've been homeschooling for a while you may decide that now is the time to connect with other homeschoolers. If you live in the North Okanagan and are looking for other Christian homeschool families to connect with we'd love to meet you. Please feel free to join us any time at one of our regular meetings or if you have any questions please
email us and one of our volunteers will respond to you.
