Assisted Suicide

He saw no purpose,
He found no cause.
It was as if there was no reason
for him to continue.
Many tried to convince him that
it was the way it was meant to be.
That there was meaning in everything,
but that he could not accept.
He had been a God-fearing man until
the day he found out.
The day his life ended
and his miserable existance began.
That is when he decided he would
live no longer in pain.
That was the day they let him go
and his lungs failed.
