The Music is "Rhapsody On a Theme of Paganini" by Rachmaninoff.
Step 6:  One Clutter Place
Cleaning out the Attic and turning it into an Office
I couldn't bear to show you the attic before we cleaned it out!!!  This is what it looked like before construction started...
Same corner,  but better view of roof underlayment.

(Sorry about the glare...)
This is the view from the back wall of the attic, through the access door, into the guest room
  (See
Floorplan - Second Floor).
That's the lathe behind the plaster on the guest room side...
Same wall, view to the
left of the access door...
Same wall, view to the
right of the access door...
The doorway  was cut about a foot higher
and given a softly arched top..
Dan especially appreciates this...he's 6'4" !!!
And the electrical service went in...
Since this is going to be our office, we went with three outlets on each wall.
The day the guys started insulating, we had a "Blue Norther" come through Florida...
It was colder than a well-digger's patoot!!!
The insulation made all the difference in the world...
The wallboard is installed, and a new window to the tree tops was
added  to turn the
"converted attic" into a room...
The first afternoon, along about 4:00PM, the sun started shining through this window into the guest room.   From the hallway, I saw the light under the closed door and FREAKED!!!
  I thought the house was on fire!!!  :O}
This is the view of the new window from the outside.  We also had a motion-detector floodlight installed over the window to light up this very dark side of the yard at night.
I think if I add another window
to this wall, it should be
ROUND...
  I like
consistency in design, don't you???
  (She said, tongue-in-cheek!
The only constant factor here being that every window is a different size and shape...)

I'm working so fast, I may have overlooked some!
The walls were painted a very soft blue,
and an industrial grade berber carpet
was installed...
and just like THAT!  it was Moving Day!!!
'Course, it was required by Law that we trash the rest of the house in the process!
This is what my living room looked like during the course of the move...
