Scrapbooking
The business of scrapbooking has exploded in the last few years. There are specialty stores dedicated specifically to this hobby, this craft, this documented history of your life. The heart of scrapbooking hasn't changed since my Gramma Tiny first burned away the edges of her photos and placed them in her thick black album  back in  the 1920's. What has changed a lot since then is our knowledge of preservation.  Scrapbooking is a  photo safe way to preserve your photos and memorabilia, using acid free lignon free archival quality materials.  This is the heart of it. To read more and see some  layouts, examples and definitions, click on the word scrapbooking above.
Running
I have never really liked to exercise, especially aerobic exercise. I could never seem to get motivated enough to join or attend a gym, especially since I have had children. And the home exercise tapes were fine for a week or so, but I would soon loose interest.  Running is perfect for me, I can do it anywhere at any time, and once you start running you feel the benefits right away. To read more about running and exercise click on the word running above.
Stamping/Card Making
I just got into card making and stamping a couple of months ago.  It is the natural evolution of a scrapbooker, the scraps of paper are there, and stamps can easily be used on a layout (this was my rational for starting, however I have yet to actually use a stamped image on a layout.)
A friend of mine is a Stampin' up representative and got me started down this path so almost all of my cards have Stampin' up stamps on them. To see some of the cards I have made click on the word stamping/card making above.
Gardening
Growing up in the City I didn't have much (any) experience with gardening. We didn't have so much as a raised bed.  The closest I came  to gardening was the year that I took a knife, spoon and spatula from the kitchen and tried to cut a large swatch of grass out of the front yard around a couple of shrubs that we had below our front window. My vision was clear, I wanted there to be a pool shaped plot of rich soil to plant roses in, from the corner of the house to the front porch. Well, after about a foot and a half, I decided to go play with some friends.
Ahh, but the spark of a gardener was there.  I have learned a lot about gardening since then, mainly that I have a lot to learn. Gardening, like running, gives me peace. I love being up on a crisp morning while the sun is rising watering my flowers and checking in on my vegetable garden. For the last 7 years I have mainly worked on small plot vegetable gardening, I have tried many different  methods. This section is all about what I have learned. Knitting
When I was young knitting was a summer activity, because that is when we would go to California to visit my Grandma Tiny. She is the queen of crafts. Even at the age of 96 she will have butterfly crafts set up for the kids when we go to visit her.
Now, when the weather turns a bit colder and the day's are a little shorter, out come the needles and whatever sweater I am working on. I really enjoy knitting. I have only been doing patterns (creating different textures) for about 5 years. But  have completed countless scarfs and 4-5 sweaters. If you are a novice knitter and interested in some of my patterns, click on the word knitting above.
