Our Journal About Our PMU Foal Chance

August 2, 2002- Several new foal photos were posted on the Taktani web page. There were many cute foals posted and several palomino foals. One particular foal caught my eye. I just had to have him. So I took the plunge and called Krys to reserve him. He will stay with his mother until September. In September, he will go to the Taktani farm. He will have a coggins test and then make his next journey the beginning of October to Wulffe Equine Rescue in Ohio. It will be a long journey from Canada to Ohio approximately 36 hours. Once he arrives in Ohio, we will make arrangements to get Chance to Maryland.

August 10, 2002- We have begun the barn construction to prepare for Chance's arrival. We intend to build a 12 X 24 structure. Half will be for hay, feed, and shavings storage and the other half will be a 12 X 12 stall for Chance. Today we rented the post digger and put in 4 of the 6 post. Tomorrow's goal is to put in the last two post. We already have two stall fronts and a stall partition purchased for this structure.

September 7, 2002- We have finished the post. We have mounted the stall fronts and stall partition. Chance's stall will be the first stall on the right. We also put sand in the stalls to build the height up four inches above grade level. We have put mats down in Chance's stall. Below are pictures of our work so far. The next step will be to put up the roof trusts.
