Noah's Park
Isla Solarte, Panama
Isla Solarte is a beautiful island in Bocas del Toro, Panama. Tourism is the primary industry in Bocas, but it is tourism in its infancy. Visiting Bocas is like going somewhere that time stood still. We love it and hope to someday have a home here. In the meantime, we visit. Last visit we decided to take school supplies to the Indian school on the island. The plan escalated to where we were taking a quilt for each child from Wrap them in Love and we finally ended up planning a full morning including party with pinata. What fun!

We arrived 45 minutes ahead of party time, intending to spend some time getting set up. We were greeted at the dock, even at this early arrival, by a large welcoming committee of kids.
My friend Carol prepared art foam borders and lots of cool animal and other shaped cutouts along with sequins, jewels and other decorations. Each child made a picture frame and then inserted a polaroid picture we took of them in front of their beautiful new quilts.

Left: Here are a bunch of the kids with their quilts.
After we finished the pictures and frames, we played "Hoky Poky". Then the kids and their teacher entertained us with songs they have learned in English. That's Juli leading the group and Breanna is near the right side of the picture.
