Noah's Park
Babies, Babies, Babies!
We lived in Panama in 1998 and 1999 and I drove over the Bridge of the Americas every Wednesday to visit an orphanage in a village on the other side. I love this orphanage. It is run by the Sisters of Charity and the babies are always happy, clean and well dressed. Some days I would be tired and think of skipping that nasty drive across the bridge (it was under construction the whole time I was there!) but I would make myself do it, and always left my babies with a smile on my face. There is nothing as fulfilling as rocking a baby!

Since we returned to the US, we have been back for a couple of visits. We visit "my" orphanage, and the one where Kalle spent her first 11 months. With the help of friends and colleagues, we take supplies with us.
This is Maria Lourdes. She was one of my original "rocking" babies. Now she is five years old. She was severely disabled by infant malnourishment. In this picture I am delivering one of Wrap them in Love's beautiful quilts. I picked this one out for this special girl because it was entirely hand made: even hand quilted. I thought all the love that went into making this quilt was just what this little girl needs. She also needs a wheelchair. My current project is figuring out the required features and finding one for her. Anyone who wants to help, just let me know! EXCITING UPDATE: Wheelchair has been found!!! Click here to email me!
Two more of my growing up "rocking" babies.
Here we are loading up Costco's finest (yes, they have Costco in Panama) into our pickup taxi for delivery of the first load to our babies.
The first load goes to "my" orphanage.
Lots of help unloading at "kalle's" orphanage..
