Did God Drop the Egg?
Oops.
An accident
(kind of like you)
Slipped from grip of fingers
Five and a thumb
As if frictionless
But only a safe distance
Down
So as not to crack the oblong shell
(kind of like you)
But the yolk!
No rudder entrusted
Within the sticky whites
(Did God drop us too?)
Wobbling will-lessly
Across speckled granite
Tumbling over polish
(such laconic state!)
Until the curb along the edge
Gives a last summit
Anticipation
And then freefall,
Tangential,
To the floor.
