How to Hack Normal Moves in WWF No Mercy

NOTE: This is a guide written exculsively by me. While surfing the net, learning how to hack from other guides, I developed my own which is (in my opinion) the easiest to understand. If you have a question or need thorough explanation e-mail me at [email protected].

*MUST HAVE GameShark Version 3.20*

Requirements:
1. Nintendo 64
2. WWF No Mercy
3. GameShark (version 3.20)
4. Expansion Pack

Note: I stongly recommend that you have a pencil & paper when hacking. Also, whenever I say P1 or P2 I'm refering to Player 1 and Player 2.

1. Push Power and turn on the GameShark.
2. Go to "Select Cheat Codes."
3. Open your WWF No Mercy file or create a new one if necessary.
4. Turn on the ENABLE code and leave everything else off.
5. Press "START" to go to the "Start Game" menu.
6. Turn the "Code Generator" on.
7. Start the game with the "Selected Codes."

Now that the game is on, follow this next set of steps:

1. At the main menu, go to the "SmackDown Mall."
2. In the "SmackDown Mall" go to "Superstar Options."
3. In the "Superstar Options" go to "Edit a Superstar."
4. Go to an original superstar so you'll have access to all of his/her moves.
5. Go to the moves section of the original superstar.

The next set of steps is the hacking part:

Let me explain real quick what happens when you hack moves:
Whenever you hack a move all you are doing is changing the animation. When you hack a move, you basically put two moves together (known as splicing).
Example: Jackknife Powerbomb to Last Ride: You end the animation of the Jackknife Powerbomb after you jam the victim's head between the legs. You start the animation of the Last Ride after. Please note that when I say Player 2, I do not mean the code will work for Player 2, I'm talking about the animation for the person receiving the move.

1. Go to the first move that you want to splice. (After the hacking has been done and the code has been entered, this will be the move that the hacked move replaces.)
2. Press the GS button (tiny button on the GameShark) at the point where you want to switch over to the next move.
3. Go to the "Memory Editor."
4. When there press the "A" button again to see this menu pop up.
5. Go to "Go to Address."
6. Here enter the line: 8006B454 & press "A." (This is the addy's for P1)
7. Here look for a letter or number that is highlighted.
8. Write down the first two highlighted and write them down. Then write down the two following them.
9. Press "A", and go to "Go to Address."
10. Here enter the line: 8006B456 & press "A."
11. Here look for a letter or number that is highlighted.
12. Write down the first two highlighted and write them down. Then write down the two following them.
13. Repeat steps 5-12 except this time with the first line being 8006B514 and the second line 8006B516. (These are the addy's for P2)
14. Find the move that you want to splice together with the first move you chose.
15. Press the GS button where you want the 2nd part of the animation to begin.
16. Go to the "Memory Editor."
17. When there press the "A" button again to see this menu pop up.
18. Repeat the regular steps for the line 8006B460 and 8006B462. (These are the addy's for P1)
19. After that, do the same thing for the lines 8006B520 and 8006B522. (These are the addy's for P2)
20. Now that you've done the hard work, turn the game off and let's break down the code.

The next instructions are for entering the code.

1. Turn the GameShark on.
2. Go to "Select Cheat Codes."
3. Open your WWF No Mercy file.
4. Go to "New Code."
5. There enter the code as follows:

D106B454 (#1).Move that P1 is doing first (4 addy's you got first P1)
D106B456 (#2).Frame that the move splices at (4 addy's you got second P1)
8106B460 (# 5).Move that the 1st move is being spliced into (second move's first 4 addy's P1)
D106B454 (#1).Repeat Line 1
D106B456 (#2).Repeat Line 2
8106B462 (#6).Frame to switch to (second move's second 4 addy's P1)
D106B514 (#3).P2 reciving the first move being done (4 addy's you got first P2)
D106B516 (#4).Frame that the move splices at (4 addy's you got second P2)
8106B520 (#7).Move that the 1st move is being sliced into (second move's first 4 addy's P2)
D106B514 (#3)Repeat Line 7
D106B516 (#4).Repeat Line 8
8106B522 (#8 ) .Frame to switch to (second move's second 4 addy's P2)

1. Exit the code and turn it on.
2. Preview your hacked code in the "SmackDown Mall." (Remember your hacked code replaces the move that you first spliced.)
If it looks perfect then you're all right. If it glitches then there is still some more work to do. You will have to freeze the animation before it glitches.
3. Press the GS button right before it glitches.
4. In the "Memory Editor" search for the addy: 8006B454 and 8006B456 for P1.
5. Do the same thing for P2 by searching for 8006B514 and 8006B516.
6. Turn the game back off.

1. Turn on the GameShark and continue editing the move by pressing "Z" when highlighted.
2. Add this part of the code to the saved version:

D106B454 (#1) (first 4 addy's gotten for P1.)
D106B456 (#2) (second 4 addy's gotten for P1.)
8115AF52 0000 (this value # will always be 0000. Its telling the game to stop the animation being done)
D106B514 (#3) (first 4 addy's gotten for P2.)
D106B516 (#4) (second 4 addy's gotten for P2.)
8115B2AA 0000 (this value # will always be 0000. Its telling the game to stop the animation being done)

That is how you hack move codes for WWF No Mercy. You can use these steps for any type of move. If you are hacking a high flying move, than you only have to enter the lines for Player 1 only. Same with strikes, taunts, etc. If you want to hack turnbuckle grapples, then the formula is very different. Be creative and have fun hacking.
