Judah is banished to Babylon for their disobedience. And that's how 2 Kings ends. It's kind of an interesting way to end. From that point Zerubbabel begins to have the temple rebuilt because it was destroyed. There is some prophetic activity. And then there is "silence" for a good chunk of time.
Lord, what was going through Your mind? Father, I just don't get how we - how I - can mess up so much; You will bring judgement, but there is a chance for repentance as well. That is so awesome. You brought judgement against Your people, but You didn't leave them with that. You offered Jesus, Your only Son, for them and us. You offered redemption, paid for by Your Son on the cross. No one else can claim to have died for us, except Christ. You bring a true hope to this world, and I thank You.
Father, I'm sorry I don't always look at Your Word like that. I take it for granted so often. I believe it's true, but I don't always act upon it. Lord God, I'm not sure what I can take from this passage, except that I should listen for Your Word to lead me and guide me. If it flies in the face of Your Truth, I should flee from it. And if I do not flee from it, there are consequences for my choices and decisions. God, keep me inline with the Bible and what You say. Never let me veer. Make my path straight with Your Will. I ask for this in Jesus' Name, amen
