2 Kings 21:19-22:20 NASB

Manasseh did evil. His son, Amon did evil as well. But there's Josiah. He basically says he's going to repair the house of the Lord. He tells his servants to gather money from the Lord's house and to hand it over to these workmen who are faithful, and he says not to keep a record of it because they're faithful. That's pretty interesting; Josiah wasn't worried about the money because it wasn't his to begin with. He used the Lord's money to repair the Lord's house, as it should be.
But something interesting happens, though. Shapham the scribe is handed a book by Hilkiah the high priest. Shapham takes it back to Josiah and reads it in his presence. Josiah realizes that it's the Book of the Law of Moses. He mourns over the evil that Judah has seen. He knows they've been in the wrong. So he inquires of God, asking what's going to happen. God, in His lovingkindness, says He will spare Josiah from seeing what God will bring upon Judah for their evil.

Lord, when I see evil in my own life and read Your Word, may I react just like Josiah. If I see that the way I'm living my life is evil, may I tear my clothes and mourn; then change my life, according to Your will and to Your Word. I love You, Father; and I want to please You. May Jess and I please You with our lives together. Bless her today, God, with patience for her students. And may her life be evident of who her trust lies with. In Christ's name, I pray. amen
