2 Kings 18:13-37 NASB

Our world today delivers taunts like that of the Assyrians. It yells, "There is no God." I know better. I have seen the Lord work not only in my life, but those around me. How then if I know something to be true, can I back down and acknowledge something I know is false? That is something Judah was faced with. "But the people were silent and answered him not a word, for the king's commandment was, 'Do not answer him.'" This shows me they had trust in their king. And their king had trust in the Lord. Do I have the trust in God to let the world try to lead me astray, while keeping my eyes focused on His Holy Word and His awesome statutes? When someone says to you, "Listen to me and follow me, and everything will be good for you," what will you say to them?

Lord, please give me the strength to say nothing. Give me the silence to listen to You, to listen to Scripture. And as I am listening to Your voice, cause me to pray for those who are persecuting Your Word. Because they don't reject me, but reject You and Your promise of life in a world of death. Father, thank You for the people You have placed in my life. You know whom I speak of. Bless him in all he does for You. Thank You for Jess. She loves me with a heart of patience, and that is hard to have with me in mind. She does it, but only by Your stabling hand. Thank You for thrusting a passion for children into her. I ask that she continue to be diligent in seeking You, and using her blessings to bless the children she teaches everyday. Please bless her teacher with grace and mercy, a kind heart, and discernment to know when to let go and let other ideas come into play. Father God, please impart upon all of us how much we need You and how nothing is possible unless You're the key component of it. I thank You for all of Your blessings today and those I shall see tomorrow. Open my eyes to Your will as I look for jobs and think about this summer. May Jess' eyes be wide open to Your will as well. I love You, Lord, and I love her. Thank You once again for Your blessings through her.
