2 Kings 18:1-8 NASB

In all the history of the kings, no one tore down the sacred pillars or the high places. But I see here Hezekiah, being the first. It's awesome to see someone trust in the Lord (v5) despite what one's predecessors may have done or not done. Hezekiah clung to God (v6) and that is not often said of anyone. And even better than that, in verse 7, it says the Lord was with Hezekiah, and he prospered wherever he went. That's what I would love to see in my life. To cling to the Lord all the days of my life, and see His will prosper in my life. All the glory to Him.

Lord God, it's time for me to get off my tuchus, and do Your good work. It's time for me to see those high places and sacred pillars which take away from Your glory. Draw me to You, O Lord, so I may know Your passions. Bless me with the zeal Hezekiah had for You. Let others see Your glory in my life, all the blessings which You've bestowed on this unworthy servant. Father God, I ask that You help me get a job as well. I don't know how I'm going to finish paying for school. You've started an awesome work in me, and I've seen it continue here at Calvary. May Your work never end in me. Father, help Jess to see how she can be an important part of her classroom, despite all of their attempts to block You out. Please use her and the passion You've blessed her with to see those children as You see them. Continue to bring us both to You, completing the triangle we've started. I love her, Father, and I love You all the more because of her. Thank You for Your love that has been poured out on us. It's in Your precious Son's Name that I pray. amen
