| All About Me |
| Hi all, This is my first stab at web building, so please be easy with the complaints. I have to thank Jilly for getting me started with this, So Jilly, consider yourself thanked. :) Most of you know me as Doc or No_Finer69, my real name is Jim. I was born in NYC way back when. After a year of city life, my family decided to move to the "country". We packed up and moved all the way to small town in New Jersey. I have been here ever since. As a boy growing up, I always had a fascination with cars. I dreamed of the day when I would own my first 'Vette... As I entered high school, there used to be a kid that would come pick up his girlfriend everyday with a 1969 Camaro...OMG, I fell in love with that car. As the ripe old age of 17 was approaching fast, I knew I had to go get a job, so I told the gas station man I was 20 years old, he bought it and hired me. (gasoline was 27.9 cents a gallon then). 6 months later, I was the proud owner or a 1969 Camaro SS 396 with 375 hp. The paint was a gold metalflake with tangerine graphics on an L-88 hood. All my friends would say, There is "No_Finer69" than your car. Hehehe (and all you people thought my screen name was sexually connected). 2 years later, my fiance told me she wanted to get married and I had to sell my camaro and buy a family car. I was torn, but my love for her was worth it (or so I thought). I sold the car and 6 months later, she left me for someone else. Live and learn... In March of 1977, I bought my first Corvette. It was a 1960 (pic) with 2 tops. I still cruise around in that car today. In Sept. of 1979, I got married, as 1983 approached, I wanted another 'Vette, So I went out and bought a 1982 and came home and suprised (lol) the wife (pic). She drove it until we adopted our 1st child in March of 1986. In March of 1989, we adopted our 2nd child. In April of 1993, the nice weather had given me the "car" bug again. This time, I wanted to be radical. A friend of mine had a 1931 Ford 5 window coupe that he was modifying... I wanted it and when it was done, I purchased it (pic). Backtracking a little bit, I worked all kinds of jobs until 1985, Thats when I got a job as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. I was happy and content until 1996. I had some friends that had taken jobs as "traders" on Wall Street and making tons of money working 1 or 2 hours a day. In 1999, I took the plunge and quit the Post Office and headed to Wall Street... Following their advice, I was soon reeling more money that I ever dreamed possible. However, I was starting to get greedy and wanted to now retire in 1 year instead of 15. I took big risks and in the end, lost everything I started with and so much more. My friends who were "disciplined" are still there and still making money. Oh Well... I got on the web in 1993 on AOL, I soon migrated over to MSN around 1995. But it was the year 2000, that I met my best friends Angela (pic) and Amy (pic). in 2001, Jilly (pic) and Lynn (pic) soon joined the "gang of 4". They are the best friends that anyone can ask for. As for the present, I'm currently trying to rejoin the Post Office and enjoy my children, watching my daughter compete in 3 varsity sports since being a freshman. (She may become the 1st athlete since 1984 to earn 12 varsity letters in a high school career). I also help run a flirting club called Flirters Field. Sorry, so long winded. Love you all, Doc |
