If you were wondering where this little dolphin came from, here is the story of him so far as dictated by his caring owner brett to his caring owner brett.

I have a yellow and white, stuffed toy dolphin and his name is No_bob. I have had him since July 2000 when I won him (freed him from the shackles of stuffed toy labour) at an amusement park type venue on a pier in Brighton, UK. I took him back to London (where I was staying at the time) with me and in an overcrowded room in 11 Old Oak Road, Shepherd's Bush I decided to give him a name. At first I was going to call him 'bob' but then I realised that he doesn't ,and so "No_bob" was born or named or something. I strongly feel that the underscore is an integral part of his identity (or it would be if he had one).

Since owning a stuffed toy I have been amazed at how many people start assuming that because you give it a name, that it is real (or at least think that maybe you are under the impression that it is real). People will ask me to say "Hi" to No_bob when they write to me or ask how he is doing and weird stuff like that. He's a toy! He's not real! I know that! It's about time you did. Accept it and let's move on! Good… now that that is sorted out, my plan is to make No_bob the most famous dolphin in the world (step aside Flipper - who if truth be told, didn't even get a sequel!)

Sadly No_bob is a bit of a 'walking wounded' at the moment (and when I say 'walking' I mean floating/sinking... not bobbing!) as towards the end of last year he lost an eye and then got savaged on a camp when his dolphin-nappers had one side and his attempted rescuers had the other side and much pulling commenced and I only just managed to rescue him from being totally ripped to pieces... as a result he is slightly longer and had to have some of the sewing patched up, but otherwise he is still kicking (or he would be if he was real... and had the capacity to kick!)

And so, that is pretty much the story of No_bob so far. He has been to London, Holland, through France and Belgium on a bus, Malawi, stopped over in Kenya and to South Africa. He has been on youth camps, to schools, Habitat for Humanity builds (the big Jimmy Carter Project build of 2002 in Durban, Kwazulu-Natal), Baptist Summer Camp, Umtata Zema Missions and occasionally stars in the role of 'fluffy thing' when I am Master of Ceremonies at TheatreSports.

He has had a song written about him (still to be recorded though) and a web page compiled (this one) and hopefully soon will appear in some band's album cover thank you's and who knows when the movie deals will start rolling in...so the march towards world domination in the fame stakes is very much on...You know, for a stuffed toy, he's probably had a more interesting life than a lot of people. No, he's still not real.
