My concerts with Sammy
I first saw Sammy in concert in the band (Van Halen?) I had loved his music for many years, but had never experienced him in concert.I must say I was blown away.I honestly did not think that it would be so powerful.I saw a whole new side to Sammy that I had not seen on television before. The live Sammy really was much more powerful. Then he came back to okc and did a concert with the waboritas. I didn't think that the first concert could be out done, but this was awsome. The whole concept of Sammy and the waboritas is a perfect match. Next I drove on to Tulsa to see him again, because how can you ever get enough of Sammy.
Then he played here in Okc a few weeks after our tornado and that was the moment that I knew that I was a redhead for life. It inspired me so much that my 20 year old son and I got in our car and followed him to three more concerts,Tulsa, Amarillo, and Lubbock.I must say that I had the time of my life. In Amarillo I made a poster that read " Thank you for comeing on to okc, I lost everything on May 3rd, and I really needed you there." That was the first concert that I actually got front row, it was so awsome". Sammy read my sign and blew me a kiss. I almost fainted! To this day I still hold that close to my heart.
Last November my husband and I drove to Dallas and see Sammy again. We had planned our vacation around that concert. As usual it was a fantastic concert. I would love to know how he can have so much energy. The best concert so far, July 25th, 2002, Oklahoma City show. I got front row tickets again, and I must say that was awsome. Thanks Sammy for the tequlia!, the smile, and the pictures and autographs after the show.
Dallas 8-9-2003 Awesome, to say the least. So far I can't say that one concert has been better then the other. Sammy always does such a great job. My husband and I both had such a great time.
Oklahoma City, 8-25-2004. Van Hagar at the Ford Center. Totally cool.
While I had a blast as usual, it was interesting to say the least to see Toby Keith come out on stage and do a song with Sammy. I actually live within a few miles of Toby and have met him way back before he got to be a big star. The crowed went wild when he came out, which suprises me, it is hard to imagine Van Halen fans likeing country music. I must say that Sammy and Toby sound good together. Also who I think is a very special guest, Wolfgane came out and did a song with his dad. That young man can really play the guitar, as good, if not better than his dad. I hope to hear more of him in the future. The whole Van Halen reunion is great, it was as if there was never a "break" so to speak from the last tour they did. I hope this will continue.!
Autographed by Sammy during the concert in Amarillo. THANKS SAMMY!
