The concert on July 25th, 2002 was just as awsome as ever. During the concert Sammy handed my son and I his glass of tequila, and we finished it and kept the glass. My son later got Sammy to sign it for us. (My son Dusty, (23) and I both are Hagar fans, and it is so great to share SAMMY HAGAR's music together. We have been to several of Sammy's concert together and have enjoyed every single one of them.) That night we didn't sit still the whole time, and Sammy noticed it. (He said when we met him that he remembered us jamming all night at the concert.) This is an adrenalin rush for me,( I have fibromyalgia and 29 years of diabetes, so to be able to go through a whole concert without passing out is all Sammy and his music.) Afterwards we waited for him and got some autographs. When he got out of the van and saw my car tag in my hand that says HAGAR55, he came right over and gave me the sweetest hug and KISS ON THE CHEAK!. He had such a smile on his face. That was the moment my DREAMS, (my favorite song,)really came true. I had such a high that you just don't get very often in life. He signed my tag for me and we took some pictures. I was telling him that I owed him a thank you for all he had done for me, and he stopped me and said that " his fans have done more for him than he could ever do for us." and that "what is understood need not be discussed.." I felt so good at that point to know that he does care. I talked to him for awhile and got the nerve up to ask for another autograph, even with his tan you could tell he was imbaressed. He was a real sport about it. It has been three days since the concert and I am still trying to recover, but every joint pain and sore muscle is worth it. All I can say is may God bless Sammy, his family and the waboritas! |
