I have been drawing since I was about six years old. I
would draw mostly cartoons and subject matter from comic books, or magazines for practice.
If I visualized a subject, I could draw it from memory.
I tried watercolor once when I was 15 years old as a school project. When I retired, I chose
wood working and vegetable gardening for hobbies. My wife Rita always asked
me why I never took up painting, since I could draw just about anything, but I didn't try painting
until 1993, when my friend Al got me interested in Watercolor painting.
So, with some tutoring from Al, and art books, I began to progress rapidly. Later on
I discovered Acrylic painting, and found it easier than Watercolor. In some paintings, I
use both as mixed mediums.
The woodworking comes in handy with the art, because I sometimes make my own
frames for my paintings.
